im stuck at finding the object id for my custom object. im trying to give the computer glasses from university pack a new look. I made a new mesh, it appears in buy mode, in inventory, but when my sim wears it, it is not showing on the face :( i got the action tuning, converted the instance in "objects definition" into decimal, but when I got in the game, it just changed from used-to-be-no-object on the face, to having the old computer glasses show up. ive read the posts: sims4studio.com/thread/23049/make-wearable-inventory-itemsims4studio.com/thread/8393/object-on-customsims4studio.com/thread/24252/appearance-modifying-buffsbut i still cant quite get which instance i should be looking for  sorry for bothering the forum...if there are similar posts please guild me to it many thanks  |

You want the CASPart ID in the action tuning, not the object ID.
Like I said in the first thread you linked, you need an actual CAS item to go with your build item, and it sounds like you maybe only did the object. If you did the CAS item as well already and it's still not working, drop your package here for us to check.

sorry I thought the first thread needed the CAS part becoz they were doing with a CAS object only!!

You want the CASPart ID in the action tuning, not the object ID. Like I said in the first thread you linked, you need an actual CAS item to go with your build item, and it sounds like you maybe only did the object. If you did the CAS item as well already and it's still not working, drop your package here for us to check. hi sorry to bother again...i made a new one because I wanted to change the interaction names and the last one was a mess... but the new one no longer has the object showing on the face...i checked everything relevant for the CAS object and should have no differences from the previous one... would appreciate if could check for me thanks a million simfileshare.net/folder/137407/included the CAS and BUY object... There's a "glassesERROR" in the folder, that is the one where I already made changes to the interaction names, but then somehow I could not click on my sims. clicking on anything else is fine though, so i figure it should be something wrong with the PieMenu tuning. im still figuring out that one, but would be great if someone could point out what i have done wrong thx  |

Your object definition in the tests is wrong this time, it should be 14045105478621948272 instead. And be careful with the SimData, it must match the tuning exactly otherwise it can lead to errors like that, like you suspected. Be careful with interactions as well, if you add/enable the wrong thing (like enabling content_score on interactions that aren't socials) it can also cause that. Make sure to grab the TDESCs and TDESC Browser if you haven't yet. |
