Hi. You need to join the top with the body, not parent it. Select the top, then Shift-select the body, then press Ctrl J

We are discouraged from offering help through private messages because fewer people will be able to find the solution by googling.
When you join two meshes, one of them disappears in the outliner ( the window in the top right corner where lights, rig, and meshes are listed ).
You should have started by watching a frankenmeshing tutorial, the process is not as straightforward as one would think.
