Hi, I've been following Mauvemorn's instructions in THIS POST just for the practice. The link is regarding removing pants from the EA female oracle suit, by the way. Baking a new texture, however, didn't go so well. So, I tried again and did things a little differently. First, I deleted every mesh group that were part of the pants and I deleted the pants portion that was attached to the coat. I also deleted the rig and all the body parts that were part of the rig. I deleted the hand, as well. I did this to make sure that the only thing left in my scene was the coat. Then, I joined all of the meshes into one mesh. Then rearranged the UV islands so that nothing was in the section of the CAS map that belongs to bottoms. I did all of the above just for the sake of baking a texture and that's it. This is how my UV layout looked, and ignore the blue color. I'm using a custom theme in Blender. And I should note that I resized the UV islands to make them a bit smaller. I just couldn't fit everything otherwise. Then, I baked a new texture. As you can see, the black pants got baked and skin colors got baked, as well, though I deleted any mesh that was a body part and any mesh related to the pants. Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

Hi. Share the blend file please. I think you did not create a new uv map before re-arranging the uvs

Yeah, missed the part where you must create a new uv map before re-arranging the uvs

Yeah, missed the part where you must create a new uv map before re-arranging the uvs Did that work for you? Because I swear I made a new UV map like the video showed. Edit: Nope. Can't get it to work. I clicked UV_0 in the Object Data tab and clicked the + sign to add a new map, then, after changing the bake mode to textures, hit bake. I get the results like the image in my first post. I'm using Blender 2.78, if that helps. 2nd edit: Sorry, I just realized that the blend file I shared does not show a new map. However, adding a new map, at least adding one in the way I explained above didn't help.

You need to rewatch the video from the very beginning. - create a new uv map first; - rearrange the uvs on the new one; - -rebake textures from the old uvs to the new
a 3d model must have the original map, the one that projects the original texture the right way. Once all textures are renamed, you will simply delete the original one and make the new one uv_0

Well, of all the stupid things to screw up on, this one takes the cake. I was doing things out of order! Thank you, so, so much. Worked perfectly! I love it when I learn new tricks.
