So I'm currently trying to make a top/vest, I've put it through blender and I've gotten to the stage where you can import the mesh into ts4 studio. it's a pretty detailed top and it takes a while to import but the thing is, it's not importing? It comes up with an error message of which I don't understand at all. This is the mesh/top I'm trying to import: And this is the error I keep getting: I'm not entirely advanced with this stuff as I'm still learning but any ways on how to fix this issue would be much appreciated!

Hi. What version of blender are you using? What version of Blender was the file saved in before import? Did you have s4studio cas tools in that version? How many tris does the garment have?
Edit: nwm, i did not notice 2.79 in the message. So do you have s4studio cas tools in 2.79?

Hello, I don't think I do, by s4studio cas tools do you mean as in the latest s4studio? Sorry, I'm still learning all this stuff haha.

No, it’s s4s’s plugin. S4s needs it to recognize what 3d models to import and in what order

I saved the file in the 2.70 version as I was doing weight transfer and vertex paint and tried to import it before doing anything else in 2.79 (I also started the process in blender 2.79 btw) here's the file: file

Lol okay, so, you mesh is EXTREMELY high poly. No maxis CAS item, so matter how complex, goes above 10k tris. Yours has 13 times more than that. The game cannot support that. the main culprit are MD buttons, they make up half of that polycount. Never use them. The second culprit is inner geometry. You need inner geometry only in places where it is visible (to cover holes). You also do not need geometry that is covered by another geometry (the area of the shirt covered by the west). And the third culprit is the density of the topology and MD’s automatic retopology. Do not use it, just model in quads and do not lower Particle distance too much. Anyway, you must save the file in the version that has s4studio cas tool. If you will save it in 2.7, which most likely does not have this plugin, s4s will not read it. That said, you do not need 2.7 at all. So long 2.79 has s4studio cas tools, you only need it. Bear in mind that sometimes after the update s4s stops supporting this version. If this will happen to you, install 2.76, this one always works for everyone (unless a person has a very old pc) There are two key differences in 2.7 and 2.76-2.79 that give people problems. When you click on Transfer weights in 2.7, all vertex groups and values are transferred, in 2.76-2.79 only the values of the active group. All you need to do is change that setting (it’s called Source layer..., change to By Name). However, changing a few more settings will give you a lot better results -make sure both the reference and your garment are visible and selectable; - select the reference, shift-select the garment, in weight paint mode click on Transfer weights, set it like in the pic, then choose Clean with All groups and Limit total. Another difference is that in vertex paint the shading is not flat, so you can switch it to bounding box to sample the color [/quote]

Okay so I saved the file in the version that has the cas tool yet I still got an error, do I need to redo the blender process? Should I make it so that my poly count isn't as high?

Alright, so I'm gonna make some changes to the top and generally just make it so the poly count isn't so high, also remove the buttons to help the situation then see what happens.
