First time posting here on these forums, so if there is anything wrong / any errors, I apologize. Link to a drive to download the high / low poly meshes + textures will be below.
Hi everyone, I've used the studio in the past to create texture mods, which I'm quite good at using GIMP, however I've been wanting to try and create a mesh mod, for one of my favorite video game villains from resident evil.
However, the outfit / hair is quite complicated, a bit out of my expertise, and has some separate meshes / parts that need to be joined.
I wanted to ask for any tutorials, or advice from senior modders/creators ( or help in creating this, which would be SUPER appreciated! But I would like to learn as well ) on how to tackle this. I believe the higher res model might have too much polygons, so I linked a lower res version of the model, if that is the case. In summary, I wanted to create a robe mesh, a hood/mantle mesh ( with jewelry intact ), new ring meshes, and a new hair mesh. The robe and hood/mantle should theoretically be together at the same time, not separate meshes, but I separated them if that makes the process easier in the long run.
I don't believe its possible to import his face / hands so it works with the rigging, so I can just do simple texture reskins for that. ( If I'm wrong, please let me know as I'm new to this part of the studio! ) I have the original models from the game as a base to work with, and I have them linked below ( can download them from google drive ) if taking a look would be easier. If the links / download do not work, please let me know. Attached are lower and higher res textures as well. The higher res model for cinematic's does have rigging and weights already, unfortunately.
Any advice / help / responses would be massively appreciated. Thank you everyone!
