Hello! I need to know more about how diffuse textures work in s4s, both .png and .dds formats. The thing is, I am trying to make my package lighter since my textures were loaded in .dds and each one is 5.33 mb. I saved all the textures (6 colors + 1) to .png 8bit. But, when I load them into the package, warehouse still shows a size of 5.33 and my file lost not as much weight as I expected (from 16 mb to 13 mb). I also tried loading other textures in the same way, but their size always shows 5.33. From here I have a complete misunderstanding of how this works. I am using s4s version 3.1.5.3(wishes), PS CC 19, textures are always in 2048*2048 resolution. screen: drive.google.com/file/d/19Fi0t3xEU6lTfsB7KVi0WiMX2UfmMbQ-/view?usp=sharing

Hi. Try saving the package, going back to the main menu, and opening it again. Some of the data does not update right away. Also, saving in png is not a good idea in the sense of saving space, png is not only uncompressed but will be converted to dds by the software anyway
You just need to make the image smaller, there is no need for the object to have such high res textures, no one will be taking portraits with them, right?

If the program automatically converts all textures to dds, that clears things up, in part.
But there is still an issue with that the correct size is still not displayed. Yes, I understand that textures are not updated in real time. And even after re-opening package, any image shows the size as 5.3 mb.
This size of textures is not random. I am playing with changing the texture sizes to 2048 in GraphicsRules.sgr and assumed that this original texture size would be appropriate. Is it not?

I'm not 100% sure but the hq mod makes sense for cas items only. There the texture size is fixed for diffuse/shadow/specular maps, if you will imported a bigger version, ts4 will still render it as the default 1024x2048, so you need to tell not to do that. With objects, textures can be of any size so long its the power of two. There is no point in forcing ts4 to render object textures in the specific resolution when there is no specific resolution to begin with.
If your objects are not rendered as black, then there is no need to do that.
I've just exported the maxis object texture, made it bigger, saved it, re-imported. It did not update right away. Saved, went back to the main menu, opened it again, it was updated. The size of it in the warehouse corresponds to the size in the folder. Try doing the same thing with a maxis object and textures to see if it is the problem with the software or the package. If the issue will persist: - just to make sure, check again that you're updating/importing the right file in the right format(dds); - try importing in the studio tab and in the warehouse, maybe there's a bug.
