Hi All. So I've had an idea, and want to try and create a mod. I made a few things for Sims 2 and 3, but that was eons, a marriage, child and two house moves ago... so yeah, I can't remember jack. First off, I want to say I'm not looking for someone to do this for me, or even walk me through it step by step. I want to do this myself, but I need pointing in the right direction for the tutorials and resources I will need. Here's what I want to do. I want to - make a Parent's Day (non-gender specific) custom holiday, where offspring do nice things for their parents.
- Have two specific traditions for Parents such as "Put your Feet up" and "be thanked for good parenting"
- Have two specific Traditions for children such as "Do Chores" and "Give Gift"
- Have a Joint tradition of going to a community lot together.
Things I need to know. - Is there already a hidden trait marking someone as a parent or as someone's child? If not where can I find a tutorial to make them.
- Where to find tutorials to make custom interactions (like for example - child to parent -> compliment parenting)
- Am I wasting my time? Is this even possible. Has someone already done it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well the good news is that modding for Sims 4 is both easier and different than the previous games, so you should be good. :D
- Not a trait, it's called a Relationship Bit (relbits for short). So if you are trying to test for parents/offspring, you use a relbit test.
- There are several tutorials, but none cover specifically about parents. If you want a full collection of all tutorials I would recommend my server for creators listed in my signature, but a good tutorial series covering interactions is Zer0's, here's the interaction one, and this is a link to all their tutorials.
- I'm not very familiar with traditions, but I do know most of what you're asking for is possible in some shape or form (not entirely sure about traveling together tradition though, but it might be possible).
