Hi All, I don't really know python, but the modder Sigma1202 created the mod Functional solar panels and water heater and then discontinued it when the Eco Lifestyle pack came out. I ran the demo of EL and I don't like it so I won't be purchasing it, which leads me back to this mod, which makes Off the Grid lots much more bearable. Is it possible to update the mod from package and script files? How difficult would it be to update this mod? modthesims.info/d/631669/functional-solar-panels-and-water-heater.html

It can be updated, but since you have no experience in Python (and I'm assuming programming in general) it will be very difficult since this is entirely scripted. My only three recommendations are to either 1) find a scripter who wouldn't mind updating it (maybe check Lot51, Frankk, or Twelfthdoctor1), 2) re-make the mod but with tuning instead (still a learning curve, but will be faster than Python to learn), or hunker down and spend some time learning Python. Once you know the basics of Python, I would then recommend studying Sims 4 tutorials and help threads related to scripting (which there's not many, unfortunately), and then see if you can figure out what went wrong, and if you get stuck head to Creator Musings listed in my signature as there are quite a few scripters there (including the ones I mentioned above). It also might be worth going there first and asking them to see what exactly changed, maybe in the end it's just a couple of name and line changes, but either way it will give you a direction while you start learning.
