So it goes with out saying i've poked my eyes trying to find my answer before coming here .
Sooooooooooooo I have found that on the DevCategoryFlags 80 is the normal to use , 81 hides the object form the buy menu , 88 does the same as it looks like (? I am not so sure ) , A0 makes that swatch as first chosen default for the object . The question is are there any more and what are their effect ? Goes with out saying any link to that information ( a list of the acceptable values maybe ) would be greatly appreciated .
Why ? Because i am trying to link a stair resource instance to show swatches from an object catalog and prototypeID does not work while when i link stair resource instance with an other stair resource instance the prototypeID works like a charm .
I am assuming that is has something to do that they are different resource instances and my brain got fried up trying to find a loophole so i am just trying to figure out if there are any Information that i might missing that might help me .
Also what the B1 , B2 , B3 , B4 actually do in the stair resource instance , cause it kinda looks like they are doing nothing to mine , and what are their acceptable number range ?
Thank you for your time <3 .

I'm not clear what you want to do, but an item only appears in the Stairs category only if it has a Stair resource (Ladder resource for ladders, etc.).
B lines are responsible for the configuration of the stairs, where the values can be 1 or 0.
B1 — walls:
0 = staircase without wall;
1 = with wall.
B2 — ?
B3 — duplication of step pieces:
0 = a step is duplicated with all three repeating and non-repeating pieces every tile;
1 = only repeating piece is duplicated (it's also stretched) + one non-repeating piece is attached at the edge.
B4 — duplication of landing pieces (?).
I haven't created stairs for a long time, so I'm not sure about B4.

Thank you your response <3 .
When you say duplication of landing pieces are you talking about the models that they are for the floor and the roof ? Stair resource has 3 model instances the 2 of them are for the beginning and the end each , are you referring to those two ?
So basically what i want to do is to find a way to link the Stairs resource instance with multiple object catalog instances so i can see each catalog swatch under the stair resource icon in the build / buy mode with out using multiple stair resources instances in order to get each swatch under one icon ( cause that actually is a piece of cake ) . Usually the way you can do it it's just copy and paste the same prototypeID in all of them but the problem seams to be that object catalog and stair resource have more difference than it looks like .
Anyhow thank you so much for your time and explanation <3 .

Nope. You can read my tutorial to understand what I mean. Warning, it was written a year ago, so there may be all sorts of errors. I've read your post 10 times, and I'm still confused. Sorry. So you want to create a staircase with multiple swatches?

It's ok , it's hard for me to explain it too . It was just an idea that went through my mind but never mind i will take an other approach on it <3 .
So thank you for your time and i will take a look at your tutorial again ( all ready read it couple of times but since i am dyslectic i might have missed something ) <3 .
