Hello everyon eand late happy halloween, remember me? the clayfied guy well, i stopped, it took far too much time and was far too slow but i dont want to stop, so my question is, is it possible for s4s to mass import several textures for each swatch, for example, i have every texture for every base game colour in dds, i want to import all of them at once on my .package, not one by one, is it possible? thanks!

Hi. If i understood you correctly, then no, you cannot overwrite a specific color swatch in all packages at once. You can mass-import textures only in a single package

Im interested in importing all the ea colors .psd on a single Anto X or Y style for example, not in several packages but just one, how can i do it, and thanks fo rthe answer
To be more precise
I have DaBomb Hairstyle, and all the ea color clay styles on separated on 18 dds, i want to import all of this psd into thos hairstyle so i can get the texture for each swatch at once, as i have to put every swatch by hand to one color swatch at the time, i want to import all of the 18 dds files into the package at once

You can’t import psd, you’d need to save them all separately in png or dds. After that you can use the import all cheat explained here in steps 2 and 15 sims4studio.com/post/166876/thread

yes yes sorry, i meant dds smh, thanks i will look into it, pngs usually dont work for me, the whole sim insinde s4studio becomes white, i suppose because the texture has a white background so i never have been able to import pngs

im afraid is taking even more time than before, as i have to preserve the name S4S gave to the exported swatches no?, and as photoshop exports dds and not tranparet pngs, can i export just dds with any name or does them have to use the Swatch_X_Diffuse_1?

Nope this doesnt work, i named the dds with Swatch_X_Diffuse_1, then i use the cheat, the swatches dont change, i think i will have to do it manually, importall is hit or miss, only worked with the stuff it exported but not the stuff i put in the folder, even with the name

png and dds handle transparency differently. png has no background while dds has. In dds the transparency is controlled through the alpha channel. If you exported the texture in png, you need to save it in png. If you exported the texture in dds, you need to save it in dds. If you want to save png as dds, then you need to add an alpha channel where the transparent areas are black and opaque are white. If you want to save dds as png, you need to remove the background. That said, there is no need to do this. If you exported in dds, work with dds. No, that would be much faster if they are in the right order. - you export all resources from s4s with the cheat; - delete normal, shadow, specular maps, and the blends; - open all of these images in one psd file as separate layers; - do what you need to do; - there are two ways of saving them: Manual:- press Save as and overwrite the file with the same name as the last layer. You just select it and click save, it will ask you "are you sure you want to overwrite", you say yes; - hide the last layer and Save as again, choosing the last one from the bottom. And do this for all; Automatic(don't know if it supports dds): - there seem to be different ways of doing it and i have not tried them myself, so not sure if it is possible for the names of layers to be preserved, but you can look into it. Here's one example but there are more. So you can export them all in the same folder and overwrite the names - then you just import all of them in the package with the script

If you do, Photoshop adds a white background and you'll lose all transparency; PNGs need to have a transparent background just as Mauvemorn explained.

THANKYOU for you patience, Sooo, i open all of the texture swatches in PS, but i have the following errors that makes it take more time : 1.PNG is hard to handle for the hairs, as i dont have the alpha channel to guide me while editing 2. i have to manually edit each layer, while as i was doing, i only edited the alpha and exported them, i only had to change the gradient then fuse the layers into one and export, damn annoying nvidia tab 3. i have to manually name the files working with dds as it cant export dds in several layers, they need to be fused, i cant use bulk naming tool it works but s4s doesnt import them all with the script 4. why s4studio doesnt mass import my dds even with the swatch_diffuse name, this one would do but s4studio doesnt import them, is my main issue, i cant see a way to use pngs in my case im afraind i will have to tstick to manually import the swatches, s4s just refuses to import all of my dds even with the names correctly applied

okay, can you please share your psd and any saved dds texture so that we would understand what you are trying to accomplish for i do not understand why are you editing the transparency of textures in maxis hair
that said, there is a way of affecting the transparency of all layers in png with clipping mask

no no, im clayfing alpha hairs(like anto's, leahlilith's, ade's), in this, you put the dirtyblonde texture in front of the original alpha texture, then with any brush, on the alpha channel you use black or white to erase or paint in this channel so it takes the shape of the texture, then with Actions you apply x or y gradient to change its color, i am creating aprox 32 swatches, the original ones before the hair colors update and some of SimMandy swatches, i use the export all command on some already clayfied hairs to improve the shape and the color, but i can only do it by hand and PS and S4S takes to much time in exporting and importing, aprox 5 to 6 seconds
