Hi,
I have a question. Is there a tutorial to make modular cc? To make shelves attaching each other like counters. Thank you.

Shelves that go on walls or shelves that sit on the floor?

I'm thinking, why not clone counters then and just replace the meshes and textures with your own? Counters are a pain because they are composed of ten meshes and each mesh is shaped differently so that they can go around corners or be placed in certain configurations. Clone a counter and look at each mesh (just click the dropdown menu in the meshes tab in Studio), and you'll see what I mean. If you want your shelves to behave like counters, then you will need to clone a counter and make ten meshes. As I said, it's a pain. You'll likely want the shelves to have some deco slots. You can do this pretty easily, actually. Look at this and this. Even if you don't want to add extra slots you will have to move the existing slots so that they sit on your shelves properly. Edit: Just occurred to me but I'd need to test this. I wonder if it's possible to clone shelves for your final package and just change the tuning to a counter. Counters are made in such a way that they will accept dishwashers. Not sure if you'd want that. Let me do some testing and I'll get back to you. Edit: No. Editing the tuning not work. There is a discussion here about how the modular system is already in the base game but to really study how modular shelves would be set up you'd need Dream Home Decorator. I don't have that, unfortunately. Ravasheen has some modular shelving here, here, and here that you can look at. The modular shelves is a merged package. You can easily unmerge with Studio. Once you do, you'll see that there are five package files. Three are for the meshes (they contain a lot of deco slots, as well), one is for the texture, and the other is an XML tuning file. The meshes used a RemoteTvGen clone, which is a debug item. I'm not sure how the cubby system works. Unfortunately, I'm not the one to help with this, but hopefully I've given you an idea of what direction to take.

Thank you very much. These are really so hard for me as a beginner but will try :( Don't feel bad. I've never done anything with XML tuning, either, and find it confusing. Could you tell me more about what you're trying to make? Are you trying to make floor shelves that can go around corners and that can be placed in different configurations the way you can with counters? Because, you could just make separate package files for each shelf. Counters have ten meshes that are differently shaped all in one package file, which is convenient. But you could make several floor shelf meshes that are differently shaped and just make a separate package file for each one. Not ideal but it'll do the job if you're goal is a system of shelves that fit one another.

Ravasheen's items to look out for are the сubbies 2.0. But even they are only slotted vertically. They use specific slots and don't require custom tuning or add-ons. In fact, this is easy to do.
As Fwecka wrote, could you describe your project? How big are your items in relation to one tile? Help us help you.
