Hello! Randomly, 2 or so weeks ago, my Sims 4 Studio started giving me this error: This is especially frustrating, because in the days/weeks/months leading up to the appearance of that error, I had not so much as touched my s4s studio settings nor my game path. My s4s settings show the exactly correct game path, and yet the error persists. The odd thing is that it started happening out of the blue, without me changing anything. The only thing I can think of is that it might have started happening when I installed the newest version of s4s. My Sims 4 game has not been updated in a WHILE (Cottage Living patch, I believe), so I tried going back to the version that was uploaded to the MEGA backup folder 5 days after the CL update (aka, 3.1.5.3), but the error still persisted when I reopened the older version. Additionally, I tried today (for the first time since this issue began) to Create A CAS Standalone. The game items loaded (weird, considering it says it couldn't find my game...), but none of the CC items that were in my Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder appeared. It didn't even try and load them. It was like they didn't exist. I can live with having to get rid of that stupid error message every time I open s4s, but I'd like to be able to make recolors, considering that I'm working on making and testing a palette. If anyone can help me, I'd be extremely greatful.

EDIT: I tried to allow s4s through my firewall, and the error continues. When I try to edit my game path (even though it is correct) it says "an error has occurred. please report this. ". Every solution I have found suggested on these forums or by others is not working and I am confused and frustrated.

Do your paths look like this? Note that there's a "\" at the end of the Sims 4 game path.

Fwecka, yep my paths are identical to yours, the only difference being that the user name is mine, ofc.
EDIT: I will say that my game is not *actually* in those places, but actually moved onto another hard drive, but my s4s was still working in the months since that change was made, up until about 2 weeks ago. (The Sims 4 folder is still in those correct places, but it's a link to the new locations, and this was working for months without issue.) I tried to, (just in case this was the issue) change the path to the actual path that these folders are in (on my 2nd hard drive), and s4s simply said (as I mentioned above) "an error has occurred. Please report this. [smiley face]" But again, everything was working without issue until a random day 2 weeks ago (about the same time I updated my s4s, I think??)

Hi. Try this: - running s4s as admin; - adding ts4 to exceptions in your antivirus. If you don’t have a third-party one, in windows defender (do not disable it); firewall does not affect anything s4s related
Are both your game and s4s on other drives or is s4s on the c drive?

Thanks for the help! I managed to solve it by updating my game and then updating s4s! Thanks so much for the help.
