Hello, I want my mesh to be base game-compatible, I'm importing my new mesh into a base game-compatible one, but I also use a reference mesh for the data transfer and the weight transfer, that mesh must also be from the base game for my mesh to be base game-compatible? or I can choose the reference mesh of some other pack, does that affect the base game compatibility?? Thank you

Hi. The reference has no say in whether the expansion pack is needed. It is the content of the package. That said, you do not need to use pack items. There is a difference between how legs and skirts morph and move. There is a difference between how skirts of different lengths morph and move. That’s it. If you are making a dress, what your garment or the reference look like above the groin area does not matter ( although choosing a reference with the least amount of sculpted details is best). The shape of the sleeves or the collar are irrelevant, they will get the data from the nude/skin-tight upper body just fine. What matters is how the bottom should behave. If you will transfer the data from the lingerie set to the dress, the skirt area will behave like legs. If you will use a short dress but yours is long, the bottom half of the skirt will behave like legs. And if you will use a long dress as a reference for your short one, it will clip into legs. My point it, you can use pack items as a reference but it is not necessary. You do not need to overthink it. There are plenty of simple bg items of different length and types of bottoms. Making a swimsuit/jumpsuit/overalls/suit/shirt and pants combo? Lingerie set is enough. Making any type of dresses? Choose a dress of the same length (or close to it).
