I have learned some basic retopology.
But now I meet a new problem/challenge. I want to have the detail of folds on my cloth.
I need to connect larger quads to smaller quads.
And I do this.
Is this good or bad?
Update: I make a different one, seems better. What do you think?
This technique use a tris, is it a bad practice?
the 4-1 also uses N-gon on the midle. Bad?

Hi. You’re approaching this the wrong way. You need to start from general edge flow and then go into details. So create 3 horizontal loops, then inset the faces that are in the area where the bump or the indentation occur. Kind of like this (although it is difficult to say what’s going on in that area)
