Hello!
I want to recolor existing ombre hairs. For example, I want to recolor the MedStraightEdgeAsym from the base game. Is there a way to isolate the ombre from the base color so that I can copy and paste it onto new colors?
However, I don't want to make a new ombre, but use the ombre already on the hair.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi. Doing it the way you want is challenging because you wont really be able to create the same exact mask from those highlights that they were made with None of these methods provide particularly good results but maybe your color combo will be more successful The easy way: - select the swatches that you want, export them in png; - open the first texture, go to Image - Adjustments - Replace color, sample the color on the highlight that is not the darkest shade but also not the brightest, something in the middle; - set Fuzziness to about 150, move Hue. If there is still the original color left, increase fuzziness. If the color of the rest of the hair changes as well, decrease it. The more complex way: - export the diffuse of the second swatch (black with hot pink); - open it, Select - Color range, sample the color as before, press ok. It may seem like not everything was selected but do not worry about it; - click on Create new fill or adjustment layer, choose Hue/saturation; - click on the mask, Filter - Noise - Reduce noise. Preserve details to 0, Strength to 10, ok; - click on Layer thumbnail, move Hue until the color is very different from the current one; - you will see that the color of the rest of the hair changes as well (more noticeable on other colors, so you might want to place a different swatch on top of the black )because the mask is too light. Select the mask again, Image - Adjustments - Levels, start moving the first slider to make the light areas darker; - if the mask won't cover the original color of highlights fully, try placing the green or purple pastel swatches which have no highlights at all. You can change their colors with Hue/Saturation How successful this will be depends on the colors. It will not work well on the blonde hair with orange highlights because those are similar colors that are difficult to separate
