SOLUTION: remove the buff from every CAS Part
I didn't really know where to put this and I couldn't find an answer. I have a male top I want to use on a female sim and I'm fine with how it looks when I remove the masculine tag and put it on her in CAS, but when I go back to play she gets embarrassed like she's naked. I know where to find instructions on fixing that normally, but the settings are right since it doesn't register as nude when males wear it. I selected teen/young adult etc. female, checked the settings and saved it as a separate package but that doesn't show up in game at all. Even if it did, the neck and hands don't match up on the female frame in s4s. Ideally I'd go into blender and edit the mesh, but I'm not familiar with it (I'm just fumbling in the dark tbh) I thought I could just copy the top, put it on a female base, morph it a little around any clipping and use that in s4s, but parts of the male body are merged to the top and I can't figure out how to isolate and delete them without also deleting parts of the top. Any help would be appreciated! here's the link to the female tagged and the original btw edited for some clarification

Hi. Some nude body parts come with this buff, so we advice to not clone them. Alternatively, you can remove the buff. Open the package that causes the problem, switch to the warehouse tab, select the first CAS part, in the search bar to the left type Buff, you will see a corresponding field show up, there will be numbers in it. Select ever that is in this field and type 0 once. Do this to all CAS parts

When I added female to the tags it was still zero in s4s but the top didn't show up for them in game (I could still see it and wear it on the female sim if I took off the masculine tag in CAS, but they get the buff), and when I took off the tags for male and saved it as a separate package with just female tags the buffs were all set to 0 and it still wouldn't show up in game.

Your sim must be wearing something else that has this buff then. Try wearing this top on a townie without any cc. I did and the moodlet did not show up.
Also, this is not really the right way of making unisex clothing. See the gap on the neck? It will be closed but the neck will still look weird and so will shoulders. Instead, just open the original package (for masculine frame) and set Fashion preference to feminine and masculine. Then click on apply to all swatches. Do not change the gender tags. This will work as intended and the mesh will adjust its shape on its own.

And after all that turns out it was just her pants causing the buff lol thank you for your help. One day I'll get around to learning blender anyway.
