Help with multiple cuts when making a long dress mesh?

I've familiarised myself with making custom content where there's one cut, but where multiple cuts are involved - confusion. 

Is there any tutorial focused on making long dresses (specifically making a dress down to the ankle)? Or anyone helpful and more knowledgeable than me that wouldn't mind passing on their wisdom? I'd really appreciate any hints / tips 

I followed one tutorial that guided me through replacing the EA cuts with my own and assigning the number, but I'm not sure how to progress from that into baking a texture
