Hello there,
I am making default overrides of EA clothing. For the past few months I have noticed that when making an override of an EA clothing mesh, the only thing that replaces the thumbnails is doing so manually.
As it seems the EA clothing is not affected by clearing localthumbcache.package in my TS4 directory, the override's swatch color and thumbnail are of the original EA item even after clearing cache (unlike overrides of CC meshes). I have tried several ways to try and get the game to generate a new thumbnail by itself, and none have worked. I'm now assuming the only way to get it to update by itself is by reinstalling the game...
The only way I have been able to accomplish any change is as follows:
1. Creating a 'Standalone Recolor' package, importing all textures with swatches
2. Deleting thumbnails for male and female on this Standalone Recolor package
3. Clearing cache, loading this Standalone Recolor package in-game. The game will generate the new thumbnails and swatches of the Standalone Recolor.
4. Opening Sims4Studio again, opening Standalone Recolor package. It now has the game-generated thumbnails, so I export all of them to a folder.
5. Creating a new 'Override' package, importing all textures with swatches
6. Replacing each thumbnail manually with the ones that were made by putting the Standalone Recolor package in-game.
This still does not replace the swatch of the overrides. I have not figured out how to do so yet... It has made creating overrides troublesome for me. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Has someone experienced this but fixed it themselves? I'd imagine this is happening because TS4 is simply not generating new thumbnails for any EA items, and the cache has yet to affect this...
Thank you for reading!
