So I got back to messing around with cas meshing but i'm stuck at just. having the model with no idea how to give it a texture. Obviously it would forever to try to guess the shape in photoshop but I don't know any other way. I've searched everywhere on the internet for a straight forward answer on this but I haven't found anything? something about a UV map and baking but I've never seen anyone explain how or what that is literally any information would help I know nothing about this I only started using blender like a month or two ago

Hi. We need to get a better idea of what exactly you are doing to give any specific answers, but you can get a better idea of what to do by watching start-to-finish tutorial on the specific task (if you want to make clothing for ts4 with md just google those words). If you will feel like the author did not provide enough information on the specific subject, you can THEN watch an entire tutorial dedicated to this specific thing.
i would suggest to start by watching a mesh editing tutorial because it is simple yet, if smartly constructed, can give you an idea about everything you need to know to make clothing

I meant if I was to make a mesh, from scratch how would I go about giving it a texture. I just don't get how people know how to make textures for such conplex shapes I think blender can make a template I'm just can't find any tutorial that shows how for this older version of blender that I'm supposed use specifically

- you create a 3d model; - To project textures on its surface, you need to unwrap it (like a present ). You mark seams on a 3d model and generate uv islands; - if you’re making clothing, you need to join the mesh with the body. But before you do that, you need to remove the areas of the body covered by clothing; - then you put your item uvs in the freed space according to this template; - then you bake textures or make them from scratch; As I said, you need to watch a start-to-finish tutorial that covers the whole process. This process involves the knowledge of some ts4-specific information so you will not be able to watch a generic Blender tutorial and know how to do everything.

I know I need a sims blender tutorial it's just that the tutorials I've seen tgey kinda brush over it, use a different version of blender, or they don't zoom in and I can't see all the tiny buttons they're hitting to do stuff they're doing but I could try to find another one, thank you for the information

In case you haven’t yet, you can change the quality of the video. In the bottom right corner of the video there is a screw button, click on it and you will be able to choose the quality. Then you can go to the full screen mode, it will be easier that way.

picklpizza :D I feel you, man. The tuts on youtube mostly like that. I was like you two years ago and I gave up. The knowledge gap was to wide. I knew nothing about blender, Marvelous designer, etc. I learned little by little very slow, gave up again, until I picked it up again, like 3-4 months ago. Making CC demands us to have basic to intermediate knowledge of Blender. Many tuts seems to jump around, because they consider we already know. Like when they say, ok now, let's make the uv, they consider you know how to make a seam. So they don't explain it again. and viola... like magic... the uv appears out of nowhere. If not for Mauvemorn, I dont know what to do. For the last 3 months I kept asking him/her this and that like every day. He or she pointed the direction, such as I know nothing about retopology, it was alien to me, I knew it from him/her. I bet you won't find any explanation about retopolgy, on those tuts. It's something necessary on creating Cloth CC. Then I look for other youtube tutorials explaining about that, it was a deep subject. Texturing, baking, it was also stressful. Things just didn't work as supposed to. Although now I understand. I have 3 months of compilation notes from the threads between me and Mauvemorn on how to create a cloth CC. Maybe if it's ready enough I will share it here. But it won't be a start to finish tutorials, more of a notes on the workflow of making a cloth, problems I met, and mistakes I made. It's more of a complimentary of tuts out there, maybe it could fill the gap of questions that beginners have. pandamontok Yeah I also gave up awhile ago, this is actually me trying to come back and understand blender again, sometimes I feel like these forums don't foster an inviting learning environment. Like you said people especially in videos assume you already know stuff so I come here for more in depth answers but I don't always get them here either. Especially when people are using different versions of blender in a video they'll show a button or option that just isn't there for me. I know I'll figure it out eventually I'd be dammed if it wasn't stressful at Times
