Is there a blender add on that can mark edges that are split?
That way I can join them easily for a nice uv_1, instead of guessing.

You can just select the mesh with A, select - select border edges, then mesh - edges - mark sharp.

Cant find the "select border edges" on the select menu. Where is it?
Hemm... select non manifold seems to work, (whatever non manifold means.)

select - select boundary loops;
non-manifold is a completely different thing
