Henlo! So I've been into making cc for 4 days now. I reckon I'm getting better at making male tops hehe and now I want to make hoodies for the conservative ladies. I've been trying for hours and hours to make my hijab cc work in the game, but nooooooo. 6 hours trying and still no luck. everything looks fine until I'm in the game. If you don't mind reading, I want to let out my frustration for a minute. lol.
So,
1st trial, it looks verrrry horrible. glitches here and there, it looked crazy. I used nude top as the base, and then I used the hoodie that is in athletic category (if I'm not mistaken) for the data transferring. the result is horrible. and so I thought maybe I used the wrong hoodie as the example for my mesh.
so I chose the other hoodie that look like real hijab hoodie. with the same base (nude top). the result was not as horrible as the first one but the glitches are still pretty bad.
I take a break now after my third attempt, but basically on my third attempt, I chose the "Head" for my base (didn't know it exist basically). I thought it would work cause it makes more sense to me to use head as the base. Then, I chose the tight hoodie as in my first attempt, as my example data. the result is much better--I mean, there were no crazy glitches outside the sims' body, but only glitches on the face and some part of the hijab clipped. Oh, the ears are always sticking out in every attempt too.
I really don't know what to do. I have a guess, that either my ea content as the base or the item for the data transfer was wrong. OR, maybe I chose the wrong option in the data transferring step. I chose either "Nearest Corner And Best Matching Face Normal" or the interpolated one. the same opt I used for creating tops. But I have zero understanding for what they are about.
....Thank you.

Hi. Please always provide the blend file, the package files and preferably the picture of the problem. We cannot give you a specific answer without knowing what exactly the mesh looks like. It being a hoodie says nothing about its length. But in short: - clone a lingerie set, export the blend, open it, make head_1 visible and selectable; - select head_2, in 3d view press Shift D, then Esc to duplicate; - select head_2.001, shift-select the lingerie set, join with Ctrl J. This will be your reference mesh; - import the hoodie in the scene, transfer weights and uv_1 with Nearest face interpolated, vertex paint; - Remove unused vertex group from the mesh with this addon ( enter 0 and click on purchase, in Blender go to File - user preference, switch to addons, choose install from file, choose this file)

okay, so at first trial I chose the nude top as the base, then imported my .obj file and transfer data with this hoodie.
I didn't duplicate anything, or transfer weights early (I did that in blender 2.70). here is my blend file(s). I overwrite my saves so I don't know.. it would probably different from what I've said here. blend filethen I thought by changing the option for the base and for the data transfer would actually do something, so in my next attempt I chose pic 1 as the base and pic 2 as the object for data transferring.
drive.google.com/file/d/1C89RKV0mdKn6nowBogJeJO4_MWDrlQzp/view?usp=sharingand this is the result from my first attempt, and I overwrite my 2nd and 3rd package with attempt number 4, where I followed your instruction but of course I messed up. So I'm not gonna put attempt number 4 here.
NOTE: I edited this reply, somehow the images I inserted disappear

Haiya, I'm too trying to make a hijab. And it's.... hell. It's much harder than a normal top or even a skirt. From my experience in creating a hijab, you can't expect to use data transfer modifier and get the weight paint job done. It probably only give you a half or a quarter job done. Thus you have to weight paint manually, to fix the rest. And that's where the gate of hell will open. My suggestion, you should make other thing like pants or skirt. It will give you a little bit higher level of difficulty. You'll learn something more gradually. In my opinion making a hijab is a too far away of a leap. More complications. But continue if you please. Now, the reason why the data transfer wont give 100% the job done is, even if you done it correctly, CMIIW yours and my hijab are usually puffier than any cloth on the TS4. So some areas may not get the transfer. Another basic problem of your hijab is, it's still still in high poly. You haven't retopologize it. Make it low poly. If this term is alien to you, well new stuff you ought to master. Although high / low poly doesn't have direct influence the data transfer result, but it influences another aspect of the game. High poly mesh will bring more pain if you're going to weight painting manually. Harder to manage.
I think you shouldn't combine the hijab with the nude top. Export a hijab from S4S, and you'll see it's not merged with the nude top.
My answer won't give you a direct solution, but Mauvermorn usually can give you a more thorough answer.

oh my... there are tons of terms that I still don't know. I only followed some tutorial from YT. but most of them don't really explain the blender in details. plus there are not many cc making tutorial out there :'( :'( At first I wanted to make maxis match clothing because I thought it would be easier to do. but I found zero tutorial video of creating maxis match cc. I found the making maxis match guide in this forum, but it's hard for me to comprehend without a visual (video), since english is not my first language and I'm bad at comprehensive reading. :'( Anyway, thank you sir pandamontok! maybe I should watch blender for beginner guides. I haven't because I thought I don't need to know every little detail in blender to make a cc. but I guess I'm gonna do that :-S

You will not be able to adapt this item as it is right now no matter what because a portion of it exists in front of the arm. When the sim will move, the arm will clip into that area of the mesh. If you were to try to avoid it, the mesh would be shaped weirdly in other poses. The only way to make it work is to reshape the mesh in MD so that it is not in the way of the arm. there are other issues: - in md either model in quads and keep Particle distance high or retopologize the mesh; - accessories come without the body attached to them. You must not join them with the top; - there is something crazy going on with the weights. Did you use "head" from the rig as a reference? This is the mouth cavity, not the head itself. Always make sure to check what is what because they are named differently for different items. You need to join the duplicate of the real head with the duplicate of the nude top, transfer uvs and weights from it, then remove unused ones. You will also have to delete some of the facial vertex groups from the list and normalize weights (you do not want an accessory to move with eyebrows or the mouth, right?) - transfer uvs and weights with nearest face interpolated; - you will have to paint the mesh with multiple colors. 007f02 at the top (until the jawline ), then either with 007f00 or with 00ff00, whichever will work best. In short, unnecessary difficult choice of the garment for a beginner, so it is best to postpone finishing it

Well, okay. I think I have to postpone this project and do other project first until I understand how everything works. Thank you!

mauvemorn I experience the clipping too on my hijab project, I don't see a way to avoid it. The mesh area between upper arm and body is always problematic in animation. I start to think that in TS4 there are certain type of clothing that aren't suitable for TS4, looking from the rigging style. I also look at somebody's works who made a lot of hijabs. Most of them only covers the neck, head, a bit of chest, but not so low down to covering the arm. My guess he/she avoided the same problem.

Hiyya! I have a huge update on making this hijab cc. So, I successfully made a almost no glitch hijab. With the help from a hijab cc creator, it is now sooo much better than my last attempt. The texture's got shiny and a little bit glitch. Now it looks like this
I did change the fabric texture in MD to a silk chiffon, but I don't think it matters when imported to blender. it looked rather fine before coloring. please help! oh... and quick question. how many poly is hi-poly? hijab cc blendcc package

The fabric parameters only matter when you simulate the item in MD. High poly is everything above 10k tris.
