Do you know if you can recolour in blender before importing mesh back over to sims4studio? I am useless with gimp and paint.net

Hi. Textures are not imported in s4s with the blend file, you need to import them manually. It is possible to do this in Blender with the compositor, but it would be a headache to use for this purpose. You can watch a tutorial for photoshop and follow it in Photopea, free online tool that is almost identical to photoshop

It’s something one can use to combine or edit images inside of blender, mostly used for post-processing You can google “blender compositor” to get a better idea but, as I said, I do not recommend you to use it because, for what you need it, compositor is a lot more troublesome to learn and use than photoshop/photopea
