I downloaded a car mesh to import into the Sims, picked a chair in S4S, imported the car obj file, scaled, one by one went through the at least 20 parts of the car changing the "cut" numbers to match the chairs. Won't upload. I did the same, only this time with a bunch of parked cars in S4S, imported, scaled, changed the cut numbers. This time it actually uploaded! As a ball of textures. This is intended to be part of a gift for my Dad's anniversary, but it just wont WORK! So my question is, how do I get this car into Sims 4? I don't need it to be drivable, I don't need it to move. I just want an object to sit on a lot.

Hi. We need to see the blend and package files in which you’re encountering a problem. The original item is too high poly for ts4. I did not download it but it is possible that it has a number of textures or uvs maps. You also should not be cloning a chair but that is the least of your problems right now.

Well, yes, 769k tris is 77 times more than the most complex maxis items. You will die sooner than remove all unnecessary edge loops manually and any automatic retopology tool will body the mesh to death. The item is made of 30+ meshgroups, each of them has a uv map. All of them will have to be squeezed into a single uv space. The car has no textures, only materials, it will be shaded flat like it is in the viewport right now. Your package contains only one mesgroup out of them all because they all have the same cut. You will not be able to import a 769k mesh into s4s at all.
You can join everything into one meshgroup, use Decimate until the polycount reaches at least 50k and re-do the uv map with Uvs - Pack Islands just to see how bad it will look.
I dont see any model of this car that is suitable for the game anywhere online. Content made for renders should not be adapted to games, so if you know of any game that has this car, use ninja ripper to get the model and adapt it instead.

-------------------------- I think you would probably have better results looking at stuff in Daz3D. The program is free, and once in awhile you can find free meshes. (Right now their free meshes are clothing and some clutter, I think they change their freebies weekly.) However, most of their meshes are expensive ($15 to $30 each per mesh) but designed for games, not 3D printing. I visit their site at Daz3D.com just to steal wallpapers for my desktop from their gallery. Also, I understand Blender gets along much better with S4S. I did see some cars like this in Avakin Life, but since it is a mobile game that is in the cloud, the build and buy mode items are completely inaccessible.

You can actually rip models from mobile games as well if you install the iOS/android emulator on your pc and start the game from it
