Every time I open S4S it indexes everything like it's the first time I've opened it after an update. If I try to open a second S4S window it says 'Studio is unable to access: ...Documents\Sims 4 Studio\S4Studio_v3.2.sqlite because it's being used by another program: S4Studio'. Then the only way to get it to open is to click 'ok' on the warning, then x out of the 'loading' window. I then cannot clone anything from my Sims 4 Studio mods folder (custom items are totally missing in S4S). I've repaired my game and also created an exception for both folders with my Anti-Virus software and I still have the issue, is there something else I'm missing that would cause this issue?

Try deleting this file from s4s folder in My documents

Thanks and sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot. I tried deleting it and I still have the same issue.

Have you tried running s4s as admin? If s4s is installed on the c drive and you have a d drive, try moving it there. If not, try giving s4s permission to do everything as shown in both replies here

I did try running it as admin to no avail. I moved it to my second drive and now windows asks me if I want to run an app from an unknown publisher each time I open the program (it wasn't doing that before). I did both the setting it to run as admin as well as elevating the permission and it still does the same thing. The only reason I thought it was a bug is because I didn't have an issue until I installed the newest version. I also did a clean install each time.

There could have been an update in windows that made it more zealous about security or, say, you installed it to a different location than the path in exceptions leads to currently. Try doing things again in this order: - leave s4s on the d drive; - add s4s exe file, the installation folder on the d drive and the folder in My documents to exceptions both in your antivirus and in Microsoft defender (the built in antivirus should be turned off automatically when you run a third party one, but who knows); - delete the S4Studio_v3.2.sqlite file if it appeared; - run s4s as admin

Others have had this problem before and usually, it seems to be a problem with your antivirus blocking the file somehow. Avast is the biggest offender, apparently. Another problem could be your file path settings. Here's how mine looks. Note that I'm using Windows. I recently had an issue with Word documents on my D drive (they wouldn't open) and had to take ownership of the folder containing the files. Actually, it was the entire D drive I took ownership of. Not sure if it was a good idea, however, but no problems thus far. DON'T DO THIS WITH YOUR C DRIVE. Bad idea. Trust me. If you're still having issues post the contents of the error and maybe share a screenshot of your file path settings.

Nothing seems to work. I took ownership of the drive, I even turned my Anti-Virus off completely to see if that was the issue and it still didn't help. I'm on Windows 11 so maybe that's the issue? I installed the newest version of S4S to my laptop and didn't have any issues at all until I tried to open a 5th window, then it triggered the same error saying it was being used by 4 other instances of S4S.

S4Player sorry to bother, but do you still have a problem of s4s taking a long time to load? Do you have windows 11? BrazenLotus you can change the game path to \the sims 4 \, that causes a different type of problem, but you can do it just in case. you can also check if your .NET framework is up to date, that also gives errors of different nature, but who knows.

mauvemorn No, I use Win10 prof. I did not have an issue with the loading time, I had an issue with reimporting exported mesh. It took forever to reimport no matter how small. Since I have installed studio to my D Drive it got better.

Just a heads up on this because it's probably related - sometimes when I close out all my S4S windows it's still running in my Task Manager. I have to go in and end the task manually to have it stop running on my PC.

I had this issue at one point. It had something to do with an old install of TS4S I backed up my stuff from TS4S, then uninstalled ALL versions (I generally keep old versions for a while as I have had issues with new releases in the past) Then restarted my computer and reinstalled TS4S. Put my stuff back in and It was fine again. I also put it and the game itself as exceptions in Defender as the active scan would stop running overtime when I did sim things.

Yeah, that didn't work either. In fact, the install on my laptop was a brand new since I just got it so there were no previous versions.
