I'm making my first attempts at making mural wallpapers. I followed both Bakie's video tutorial and tencentsims's tumblr tutorial and while I have technically managed to make a mural, all my attempts have been stretched. I have included photos of two different wallpapers at all three wall heights. This first pattern is only one tile wide (the red and black stripes together fit on one tile). You can see that at the short wall height, it has been stretched instead to three tiles. The pattern is stretched to four tiles wide at medium height, and five at tall height. This is a second wallpaper that is meant to be two tiles wide. It's a bit hard to see, but the pattern repeat is about in the middle of the columns. You can see that the pattern has once again been stretched to three, four, and five tiles. Does anyone know why this is happening? I've done my best to follow the tutorials exactly, but I'm a Mac user and most tutorials are for PC so it's entirely possible that I've missed an element.

It looks like the default material settings for murals. Did you save the new values? Please share your package.

I'm super new to CC so I'm not totally sure what you mean by "new values", but I did scale my images (down to 256 pixels wide for both) and changed the DiffuseUVScale value to 0.5 for the 2 tile mural. I left the warehouse values alone for the 1 tile mural. 1 tile package2 tile package

I meant DiffuseUVScale values. Maxis wallpapers come in two types: 1 tile and mural walls (3/4/5 tiles for different heights). So always check DiffuseUVScale if you don't remember what a wallpaper looks like in-game. To change DiffuseUVScale, go to Material Definition and find it, don't create a new one. [0] — width [1] — height You can change both of these values. If you set it to a negative value, your texture will be mirrored. Anachrosims' tutorial is a bit odd. Texture sizes should be powers of two, but you don't need to change the width of any texture to 256px. To summarize, DiffuseUVScale for 1 tile wallpaper: [0] = 1 [1] = 1 For 2 tile wallpaper: [0] = 0.5 [1] = 1

I have a Mac so my screen looks a bit different, but I did change the DiffuseUVScale values for the 2 tile wallpaper to 0.5. I had left my 1 tile wallpaper alone and not changed any of the warehouse setting because I figured 1 tile would be the default width. I changed the DiffuseUVScale values now for this one to 1, but it was still stretched to three tiles just like before. Here is a photo of my settings.

Whether you're on a Mac or PC, material items are the same. Including their order. Create a new package, don't edit AverageColor (first line), edit DiffuseUVScale (third line).

Oh gosh, thank you so much! I finally see what you mean 🙃. I didn't know you could click the values on the left side - I thought I had to select "DiffuseUVScale" in the dropdown menu. I just made a new file and it worked perfectly this time. I really appreciate your help and your patience. Thank you!
