I was trying to fix a bunch of holes in this mesh I found by adding faces between the edges, somehow somewhere along the lines I must have selected the wrong vertex or edge and joined them together. I'm not sure what this means but I don't think its good, can I fix this in any way or is everything lost?

Hi. In uv editor select that vertex that is at the very beginning of the uv space, press G, move in closer to where the rest of the mesh is unwrapped. Zoom closer and do it more carefully. You will understand where the vertex should be when it is closer to that place
