I'm trying to do my first piece of custom content that involves mesh editing, a choker based on the base-game spiked choker but with a belt buckle directly adapted from the one on a dress from Romantic Garden Stuff. The only problem? It doesn't look right in-game. When the Sim is anything short of fat the buckle doesn't show up, and when they're fat it looks like a total mess. I already tried a tutorial on transferring weights, which I attempted based on the original spiked collar, but it doesn't seem like it really worked out. Given I historically have bad luck with weight painting and weight transfers based on attempts at studying and replicating tutorials, I'm not surprised. So I figured it was time I actually turned to direct advice from someone with more experience to figure out just where I'm going wrong. Here's a link to my WIP content, if it helps at all. For the record, all 4 LODs are the same mesh as LOD0 because I didn't want to finalize the lesser ones until I have that one right. drive.google.com/file/d/1bnGjrpw5PUltvaLFaXVgwiE-wsq1xrcE/view?usp=sharing

Hi. When you take one piece of the mesh and transform it in any way, you must re-do how it is supposed to move and morph. You took the buckle from the waist area, so it still moves and morphs like the waist. - expand the rig, make "top" selectable; - select s4studio_mesh_1, add Data transfer modifier, choose "top" as Source object, set the rest like in the pic, apply. This will fix how the mesh morphs; (ignore the first frame) - switch to Vertex paint, paint the mesh with 007f00 - the color meant for accessories; - select "top", shift-select the necklace, in Weight paint mode choose Transfer weights, set the settings like in the pic, then use Clean with All groups and Limit total;

It worked~! THANK YOU! I've been trying to make sense of working with weights for ages, so this has been a HUGE help for me!
