I'm trying to do my first piece of custom content that involves mesh editing, a choker based on the base-game spiked choker but with a belt buckle directly adapted from the one on a dress from Romantic Garden Stuff.
The only problem? It doesn't look right in-game. When the Sim is anything short of fat the buckle doesn't show up, and when they're fat it looks like a total mess.
I already tried a tutorial on transferring weights, which I attempted based on the original spiked collar, but it doesn't seem like it really worked out. Given I historically have bad luck with weight painting and weight transfers based on attempts at studying and replicating tutorials, I'm not surprised. So I figured it was time I actually turned to direct advice from someone with more experience to figure out just where I'm going wrong.
Here's a link to my WIP content, if it helps at all. For the record, all 4 LODs are the same mesh as LOD0 because I didn't want to finalize the lesser ones until I have that one right.
