I have a dress that I'm working on, but I can't figure out this weird shading issue. It shows hard shadows around the seams and edges of the cuts in the mesh. I've left the vertices along those seams unmerged the same way that EA does. I know that merging the vertices is a quick fix, but then the mesh can only be one "cut" in order to have it as one object (mine currently has 3 cuts - if I were to merge it into one cut then I would have to start a new package file cloned from an EA mesh with one cut, and I'm not super keen on merging all of those seams and then having to import all of my files into the new package). (Also, I'm not sure if "cuts" is the right terminology, but by "cuts" I mean these in the pictures below) In the image below there is a comparison shot between my mesh and one of EA's meshes that has the same number of cuts and the same unmerged seams. I don't understand why the EA mesh is shaded smoothly even with the separate cuts, but my mesh isn't. Here is the package file for the item.

I figured out the issue! I removed doubles on each cut, and then went through and separated the edges where it made sense to have seams on the mesh (I skipped the seams that EA usually has running up and down the sides and back of the mesh - it doesn't seem to have caused any problems for my mesh in-game so far to leave those seams out).
