Hey!
So I am new to making CC and I'm a beginner and by that I mean absolutely have no idea what I am doing with anything.
I downloaded some cc that was made in 2019 (not from here from another site) from some random site or creators page and when I went to use it, it did the thing where it discolours or has wrong textures on a different piece of clothing as well. I have learned that means the person who made it didn't use a reference and accidentally put the uv map/mesh (I can't remember which one) in the wrong spot. (in this case the hat spot and it's a handbag occupying a ring spot). So I have been trying to fix it but I am not sure how to do that or what I am supposed to be doing.
So if anyone wants to take a look at the package file and help me that would be much appreciated. I would love to learn how to fix it.
Thanks
Quirky Queen

This might help if you want to change the UV to the ring section instead of the hat section. sims4studio.com/thread/62/fix-uv-map-templateIt might be a pain since you will need blender 2.70, 2.79 to change where the uvs will be and match the texture with the new uvs. Hopefully this helps! If it doesn't I'm happy to find another solution!

Oh i have one of those. I tried shrinking it and moving it to the ring section but then it was just black and the textures/colours were still on the hat. I don't know how to macth the textures.

I don't know if I can. I don't even know what the textures look like in that mode or what I am looking for. Knowing me I have probably been doing something wrong because I am such an amateur. i know when i moved it the item was invisible in the sims studio window but black in game. like the mesh was gone . It was weird. I just saw some instructions on another thread which may be useful but I would need to identify if the mesh was textured or if it was textured later and to do that I need to know what the texture looks like on that screen. I know what the uv map looks like but not the texture.

Hi. You would need to change not only the uvs but 74 textures, so i'd advice to either not bother or change the uvs and texture of a different item that conflicts with this one. How to do it is explained here
