i can't seem to ever make mesh without going through problems XD im assuming it may be either uv_1 or vertex paint issue but i have no idea since im noob i'm struggling to search and follow steps but its not working at all in game blender file
i guess i ruined things because while editing stuff werent working neither on 2.70 or 2.79 so i did on 2.83 then re-imported on others to refish weight, uv_1...etc but those older version parts went broken for some reason like vertex paint seems broken i cant even use on them Moderator's edit: TW: nudity img001.prntscr.com/file/img001/5pcKf-LHRxmmdrcYAjOoOw.png

Hi. You transferred the weights with wrong settings, so now the whole mesh is affected only by one bone. Select the reference, shift-select the separated mesh, switch to Weight paint, click on Transfer weights, choose the settings just like in the pic. Then use Clean with All groups and Limit total with 4 The are other issues: - as i understand, you want s4studio_mesh_2 to have transparency and s4studio_mesh_3 to be opaque? If yes, then you must re-do the uvs. For a mesh to have transparency, its uvs must be placed away from the areas where skin texture is, otherwise they will project the skin. You can see it in your screenshot. So you would need to switch the uvs of two aforementioned meshgroups; - the dress is vertex painted with the wrong color; Vertex paint dictates what variation (skin-tight and robe-like) of deformation maps the painted area will deform according to in CAS during body customization and animation. 00FF00 is for skint-tight areas, 3FFF00 is for any skirt-like area ( skirts, bottom parts of dresses, coats, aprons, etc). Start by choosing 00FF00 and Paint - Set vertex color 1). Disable Limit selection to visible; 2). Holding Ctrl, lasso-select the bottom part of the mesh starting somewhere in the middle of the pelvic bone; 3). Enable sync; 4). Press B and deselect legs; 5). Switch to Vertex paint and enable Face selection masking for painting; 6). Type in 3FFF00; 7). Paint - Set vertex colors; 8). Press A twice to deselect and select everything again, Paint - Smooth vertex colors [/div]- for the future, please always provide the blend and the package. I assume that the maxis dress you cloned was split into three meshgroups. That was done for it to properly interact with tall boots. When you put tall boots on the sim, the first two meshgroups that are in the calf area disappear. You replaced those meshgroups with completely different parts of the outfit, they inherited this tuning and will disappear as well. And while you can change that in Region map, you cannot change the bones that affect them in the warehouse. This can lead to extreme distortions or wrong arm position like this. To avoid problems like that, you should make your items just like maxis did ( split them in the same number of meshgroups the same way the original ones were). If there is no item that is split the same way with the same purpose, add a new meshgroup yourself by duplicating the one affected by the same bones.

mauvemornI did noob mistake so as a reference to others checking post in case they do same I was thinking its fine to move the reference mesh to allow me to select easily but that what caused distortion and wrong weight transfer I found out we could use animation rig for test instead of going back and forth in game so that helped XD I took your notes and fixed everything else while observing other mistakes I do to fix cause I'm really slow with all of those options so to avoid forgetting I trained myself a bit and picked another piece with 4 meshgroups to leave calf and base meshgroups for boots it worked fine after testing. Now all good and hopefully I got basic notes to avoid going through issues next time I make pieces, thank you ^_^ One last thing that I need to learn because I couldn't find a direct answer or which tutorial I should follow is when sims sit with those puffy dresses hands often clip inside, does this require different item to clone, different weight transfer or?

I think that is just unavoidable but you can check how puffy dresses from maxis behave in those situations
