Hiya!
So I'm super new to the world of mods and cc and they have CHANGED MY LIFE! (Been playing the base game for years really, but never quite managed to delve so deep as it were.)
So I have all 65 DLC and after a few days of obsessively getting cc and mods and stuff I found a video explaining how things could be fixed using Sims 4 Studio? So I hopped on over here and applied all the fixes under batch fixes because I was like what the hell, let me just fix everything. Cause I couldn't get my sim to hire a maid using her phone so I figured it was some custom stuff that was breaking that.
Anyhoo! That completely broke my game! I went into the game and then it was like 'your computer doesn't have some of the stuff in your game so 13 build items have been removed' and I FREAKED OUT. (Cause I have them all!) Then I fiddled about and then I was like fine I'll get a Sim to watch some TV and everything from the movies hangout stuff was gone, like NO MOVIES on the TV, and one channel that said something like tv channel injector test? XD So then I logged out of my game and I was like I'll repair stuff on Origin and I did but when the repair was done I was told that 13 files will have to be replaced because they can't be found?
So at this point I did what I thought was the best thing which was to uninstall and reinstall my game completely (and that's still going on) but I figured I'd come here and ask: what did I do wrong and what went wrong and why and aaaahhh.
Thanks for reading.

Hi. If a mod breaks something, you need to remove the mod from the game, not uninstall or repair the game.
Origin does not know how mods must be made, it only knows what the content of your game folder must be like. So repairing the game does not repair the mods and the data they introduce continues to mess things up inside the game. Batch fixes target specific problems but if the mod was made a long time ago or had some structural issues, the action of overwriting something may corrupt the file further. Also, when it comes to tuning or build/buy mods, if you downloaded it recently, there is no need to fix it because the author may have done it already. And if the mod is unsupported(released or updated a long time ago), it is best to not download it at all because it is most likely broken. For the future, mods break all the time. Unless you're already doing it, it is best to sort them by their category to have an easier time fixing them in the future ( CAS, Build, Buy, Tuning) Try the following: - on your desktop create a folder and name it Tuning mods, open it; - in another window open your Mods folder; - read through the names of mods in your folder while looking for the ones that are not CAS items or simple object. Those type of mods usually give you new possibilities or fix existing issues; - so when you will find something like that, drag it into the folder you created; - once you will move all of these mods, start the game and check if the issue is still there. If it will disappear, its one of these tuning mods; - if the issue persists, create a new folder called Build and buy on the desktop and move all Build and buy items there. Start the game again, check everything. If the issue disappears, its one of the build items; - to find the problematic file, create a folder with the same name (Tuning mods or Build and Buy, in whichever the problematic mod turned out to be) in Mods and drag half of the file from the desktop version of the folder. Start the game, check. If the problem returns, it is in a new folder. Create a new folder on the desktop and move half of the files there from the one where the problematic file is, restart the game, check, rinse and repeat.
This is called 50/50 method and you can find videos on it on youtube. However, they may tell you to just move half of your mods from Mods to Desktop instead of filtering. You can do it if you have A LOT OF THEM, but you will have to start the game more times. Like, if you have only a few tuning mods, it may be easier to work only with them.
