just cannot seem to figure out how to clean up these vertex edges without parts of the faces disappearing how do I go from this mess of a UV map to being able to fit wall textures on it? soon as I figure this out I can go back to working on the stair wall
here are my walls in action next to maxis walls its come a long way since I last worked on it a year ago even if its only minor cosmetic changes, the measurements are correct now.
*edit* ugh just found edge select mode well that cleared the excess lines. that just leaves the mesh which should be easy now I hope

Hi. The extra edges don’t really do anything, you don’t need to clean them. Since your mesh is angular, you should be able to get a good result with Smart uv project. If it will not split the mesh in the front, back and side patters nicely, do this: - in edit mode switch to Edge select. Select everything with A, Select - Sharpness, increase the angle to about 80. This should select only the sharpest edges; - mesh - edges - mark seam; - select everything, unwrap
