Hello. I am a beginner in object creation and I wonder how to apply for example a normal map or roughness or specular to my object. I think it's in this place on the screen but how do you know what is the one?

Hi. See how it looks like indentations? Like those details are carved out? That’s the whole point of normals map: to create an illusion of details. That’s how you know Other maps will look differently: the diffuse will look like the main texture the object projects in the 3d preview, the specular will have faint colors, the glass texture is usually of flat color

Okay thanks for the information. But do you have an example please?
On Sims 4 Studio the different textures normal map, spectacular is it always placed in the same place in the list?

In the screenshot you shared, the first DST Image is diffuse, the second one is the normal map, the third one is the specular map, the forth one is the texture of the mirror
The order is usually the same, but there can be multiple textures withing the same category, so it is best to rely on your eyes, not the order
