Hi ! I'm trying to create CC for the first time and I'm using Blender 3.3.1. I get how to do the modeling part, but when it comes to Sims 4 studio and joining my mesh with the game's object, I can't do it. Every tutorial I've found is using an older version of Blender, so I don't know how to make my object match with the game's one. If someone can help me with that, that would be great ! Thanks

Thanks Sims 4 Studio uses Blender Version 2.70. To my understanding you need to use this older version for things to work properly with Sims 4 Studio. I could be wrong though of course, I feel like I had this same question though myself in the past and the answer I was always presented with was that I need to use the old Blender version that's compatible with Sims 4 Studio in order to make that kind of stuff work.

2.76 works better (2.77-79 should work). 2.70 is outdated.
The newest S4S version can use Blender 3-point-something (check the update notes), but there are apparently still some bugs with it. the old version should still work fine.
Youtube has a lot of tutorials (not Sims-related, but general meshing-related), and probably some on the basic functions of how 3.X.X works (it got a major UI overhaul from the 2.X versions). If you're looking for "where's button X" or "how to do Y", search on Youtube or even Google. That's usually what I do, anyway. If you remember the names/phrases from the previous version, use those to search.

Thank you both. I believe I do lack the skills on Blender on how to connect a mesh to a game so I'll watch some tutorials. If its still doesn't work I'll download the 2.76 version. Thanks again !

I'd think it's the same methods regardless of version, but it's possible the placement of the tools, and possibly how they're used, could be different in the 3.X versions (I'm still using 2.76, haven't gotten around to update yet).
For both body and object meshes you have to set the correct cut numbers for the groups you want to replace. I'd think a tutorial that showed basic meshing would show you how to in the 2.7.X versions.
For animated meshes (body meshes and object meshes with animated functions) you also have to connect them to the skeleton (I think it's known more as vertex painting around the TS4 community, I'm more used to calling it bone assignments, it's possible you'll see both used, but it's pretty much the same deal).

Thank you that's very helpful. I think the cut numbers is one of the things i'm missing to make it work. They talk about it in the tutorials i've watched but I couldn't find the same option on my version, along with other things, probably related to the texture. I searched for a tutorial explaining how to create a cc with my version of blender but couldn't find one.

Example video of doing a simple clothing edit in the newer version of Blender, and she shows where to put the cut numbers (does look like it's the same place as the old one). There's probably a lot of other things you need to know as well. It's got time stamps, so easy to look back at.

Hi, the newer Blender doesn't recognize the cut number as far as I know. If your making new mesh for your CC I would suggest using Blender 2.7 (I use 2.78) before importing to S4S. You can model your mesh on any Blender version, even on different 3D software (I use 3D Max). After your done just import or append the finished mesh into Blender 2.78. Once it's in the file just join your new mesh to maxis mesh, and delete the old maxis mesh. After that adjust UV, vertex paint, weight paint. There's an easy tutorial on making earring in the forum that explains the basic.

My main problem is that older versions of Blender doesn't work on my computer, so I have no choice but to find out how to make it with my version. I found how to manage the cut number by adding the S4S CAS tools in blender. Now my problem is mostly how to "bake" all the materials in one common texture for the whole mesh. But I'll get there !!
