I've seen a few people bring this same issue up but no one seems to have pinned down a conclusion. After scouring for days on here, Maybe this will help?
Using Win10 Version S4S 3.1.6.3 (wishes)
Problem:
Batch Importing multiple catalog thumbnails only changes the thumbnail on the first swatch, and none of the following swatches.
What I know: -Catalog Thumbnails have to be named Swatch_(number)__CatalogThumbnail.png as it was export using the studio.exportall cheat -Catalog Thumbnails all export to 104 x 148 pixel pngs. -Deleting localthumbcache.package only clears the thumbnails in game. This problem seems exclusively to the importing process on S4S. -During each attempt to
I typically make cc that use MANY swatches and having to import each by hand seems like a chore that I should be able to avoid.

Hi. Just to make sure, before you export thumbnails, do you allow the game to generate them? As in, you start the game, find an item and go through each swatch? And when you export the thumbnails, do you get the same numbers of them as there are swatches?

I just went back with a test package, tried that technique from scratch (just to be sure). Same result, "studio.importall" only updates the first swatch (with the last thumbnail) and the rest are the thumbnails the game generated ones.

Just checked ad it is a bug that works both ways: the image in the first swatch is assigned to all swatches
I'll report it to the developers
