I'm struggling with creating a new bed where the bedding is separate from the mattress. The frame is not a problem. That always works out fine, but the bedding is a whole other issue. Whenever I try I always end up where the sim is sleeping on top of the bedding (despite the animations of them getting 'under the covers') and I don't know how to fix it. If anyone knows of a tutorial or just any advice that would help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you need to do the frame as a separate deco item, and the bedding as the actual bed. Remove the frame, don't touch joints or anything else, those should be kept intact.
Sims don't care whether the animations are there for the objects, they'll run through (most) sim animations regardless. Options can show on the bed, too - that's stored in a different place than the animations.

Also don't move anything around. Sims don't care whether the animations are there for the objects, they'll run through (most) sim animations regardless, with the odd hand stretch if there hands are locked to items for a brief moment. Options can show on the bed, too - that's stored in a different place than the animations. I've already done that. Separated the frame. I also didn't move anything around. I've already done this part but I appreciate the help.

Update: It's now working backward. Even after exporting the Rig and Slot file from the original bed and importing them into mine, I'm still getting this problem. Is there anyone who might have some advice on how to fix it? I am at a total loss and don't know what to do. I don't mess with the Rig, and I'm concerned I'll make it worse if I try to fix them.

I got a solution to my problem. The vertex groups were in the wrong order. The problem has been fixed. Thank you.
