Hello. A streamer joked about putting a Sim in jeans and skirt like Ashley Tisdale in the 00s. I wanted to make jeans into legging to recreate that but it only works with cc skirts and mini skirts. is there a way to fix it? (Already played with the sort layers a bunch, went into negative numbers trying to get it to work.) )

Hi. Try this: - clone leggins and copy the number in Sort layer; - clone these pants again, recategorise them, change the sort layer for all CAS parts; - make sure to not change the skirt sort layer, it must stay the same it original was.
If this won’t work, the skirt and the pants are unwrapped differently. You’d have to re-arrange uvs and rebake all textures of the pants to make it work

Do I have to do 3D modeling to have it work? I can't really use Blender.

I do not know how did you made this jeans as leggins, but I guess you just changed category in s4s from bottoms to tights. It's not how leggins / tights should be done. Somehow this way even when sort layer is lower than skirt one pants texture show on some bottoms, but not all. I have no idea why it works so selectively Each bottoms has it's own mesh and this original pants has it too while tights do not have any, they are skinpainted. It's made like this cause if you add mesh to tights it'll glitch with bottoms, where body parts that are present in tights are deleted in bottoms mesh to avoid glitching. To make jeans as accessory you should add jeans shape bottom part as mesh and delete top part so it do not cause problems with skirts but still have wider, not skinny bottom part. It's not easy to do, there probably will be differences in how texture look at body and mesh you added in place where they meet (because they are not whole mesh but are divided), you'll have to match mesh to sim leg so it do not look odd standing out of leg. In short, not something for somebody not familiar with blender, meshing and using studio.

dissia i think it’s the number of meshgroups. There is a similar issue with toddler outfit+tall boots if the outfit is made of one meshgroup instead of multiple. If my memory serves me well, the thighs have one meshgroup (like, one face hidden within the body) meanwhile the pants have multiple. We would need to see the conflicting packages to see what can be done.
