Have you also updated the shadow meshes? They are what the game also uses to know what ambient shadows should be blocked from passing through.

Basically I just used the same mesh for all LODs. The layers and cuts are where they're supposed to be as well. I should also add that I am using reshade in the screenshot that I provided but the ambient shadows are still there even with reshade off.

Hi again! Turns out the problems were being caused by the SSAO. This tutorial helped! peacemaker-ic.tumblr.com/post/167695381459/stopping-shadows-from-showing-through-a-mesh Since there was no "Phong" I just changed the SSAO value from 1-0 on all the "InstancedWindow" groups. I did this for all LODs (except shadow LODs) and it worked for the most part except one part of my mesh got messed up *see attached photo. Basically the back part of the window was showing this weird green outline. This only happened on the back side of the mesh an only on ONE swatch (my wooden swatch) the rest of the swatches were fine as well as the front part of the mesh. The SSAO wasn't showing anymore as well so I just went ahead and deleted the wooden swatch, created a new one and slapped the wooden texture I originally had and that seemed to have fixed the issue.

I'm glad that you managed to sort it in the end. Windows specifically are not something I have ever worked with.
