Hi! I'm new to making cc and I have an idea of creating a cas object (by that I mean something that would sit in hats/earring cathegory or so) that would use the skin texture from the sim wearing it. For example a black sim wearing elf ears from earring cathegory. And the ears automatically taking on the texture from the sim's body instead of needing to create swatches for all skin colors
The example I gave isn't perfect. The ears thing can be solved with body presets which wouldn't apply to the idea I have since presets need to have the same number of polygons as the base models and that's straigh up not the case for my idea. Not to mention that having the ability to simply take something off would be much more handy
How would you go about creating something like that? Is it even possible? Thanks in advance!

What you'll want to do in order to have a CAS item pick up skintone is map it to whatever part of the sim's body you're looking to grab the texture from. Do not add color swatches to your package. If there are swatches, delete all but the mandatory one and then import a blank/transparent texture to it. Make sure all other texture related tabs are blank as well (normal, spec, shadow) and it should pick up your sim's skintones.

It makes the item black :( although in s4s it appears as totally transparent

Link the blend and package. Someone needs to look at it directly to see what's happening with this one. I'll take a look at it if I'm able.

If it wont work, share the files as suggested please

hi, try making the texture transparent, or only greyscale and also make sure that the shader is set to ,,simskin" (warehouse)

wait no don't do it in greyscale, you will need other steps, i think with composition method, but not sure which
