Hello! I am currently trying to separate the backpack that's hanging from the side of the new kids desk that came with Growing Together. However, I'm having issues with the backpack strap where on the original model it appears transparent, but the straps on the model I separated does not appear transparent in s4s. I figure the issue came from the fact that I appended the mesh to a separate wall item in the game to get around the fact that the OG model came from a desk, and that removed the transparency factor. However, I do not know how transparency works and the s4s tutorials I read about transparency didn't make much sense to me. Any help would be appreciated! ( link to the package file as well just in case that helps) link to an imgur album with comparisions of the OG model and the separated one (the photos were really big here lol) The backpack in question.. Hi. The straps should come as a separate meshgroup that is meant to have a different shader that can display transparency Find an item that has something transparent, export the blend, check what cut the meshgroup with transparency has, separate the straps in your blend, assign this cut, import into the package you just cloned

Thank you, this was super helpful! I got the transparency part to work, however, now I've run into an issue where the shadow of the straps are messed up. Any idea why this may be? ( drive link just in case)

I believe thats the shadow lod. Try making shadow lod without those two planes.
