This mini tutorial will show you how to remove unwanted custom content thumbnails from a Sims 4 .package. What you will need
Sims 4 Studio 126.96.36.199 (Jackpot) or above
Open Sims 4 Studio and click the Tools selection in the upper menu bar. Select Batch Fixes on the first pop up menu, select General from the next pop up menu, and then click Delete CC thumbnails.
The Delete CC thumbnails box will pop up. Choose the location of the file where you have the custom content.packages you want thumbnails removed from and click Run. By default Studio will select your Sims 4/Mods folder but you can point it at whatever folder you choose if you want a more limited thumbnail removal. The process will create a back up folder that you will find in your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Batch Fixes folder so if you decide you want the CC thumbnails back you're covered.
Please help other creators find Sims 4 Studio and receive the help you received by mentioning Sims 4 Studio with your downloads :)
Please do not PM me with meshing questions. Post in the Creator Help forum and I will answer you there.

Hello! (*Sorry for not noticing there is a specific thread for this. Reposting here*)
I used this helpful batch fix to delete the CC thumbnails of all my CC because I'm a weirdo and I like the uniformity of just one style of catalog thumb. Anyway, I noticed an issue, after being a very bad custom content organizer and deleted the backup before checking everything out, with the in-game generated thumbs.
My exact issue is the game generated thumb for a lot of objects is... terrible. Large objects are zoomed into just a little part of the object, or can't be seen at all, that is the thumbnail is just white. Other than re-downloading the object from the original creator or making my own thumb is there a way to fix this? I know that in the tutorials here on Sims 4 Studio for creating custom thumbs it uses the game generated thumb as a base so I was thinking there might be some kind of work-around to this issue? I hope I made sense and thanks so much for any help.

Deleting the thumbnails will make the .packages slightly lighter in size. But I don't know if it is recommended in some cases. You will notice that fore some items the EA display thumbnail is not accurate. For example with alpha hairs...
