Hello , since i am a begginer i really need your help about my project . I tried to convert some shoes . I know how to extract the files - i extract the geom files and IMG files from s3pe and then i know how to import the mesh in the sims 4 doll and delete the sims 4 mesh . I can get the new mesh in sims 4 studio but i dont know what to do next . The textures are not in the right place and i dont know how to fix them . Is there a tutorial with e step by step ? It seems the object tutorials are different so they didnt helped me at all . Any suggestions what should i do next ? I spent litarally 10 hours on google searching for something that might help.I am exhausted and i really want to learn how to convert shoes.

Hi arwuin, welcome to Studio forums. We don't have a tutorial that specifically goes over how to convert shoes from Sims 3 to Sims 4 but there are a couple resources here that should get you started. The first is a tutorial I wrote showing how to get a pre-mapped accessory mesh into the game. Since your shoe mesh already has a map this tutorial should get you going because the steps to getting a shoe mesh replaced with a new mesh are going to be pretty much the same. That tutorial is HERE. Note that before following that tutorial you will need to make sure that you have moved your item's map to the same place that the original shoes you're replacing are mapped to. Object tutorials are different in this way...objects can be mapped with a lot more freedom. CAS items are all mapped to the same composite image and EA has assigned different sections of that image to different CAS items. For example, all hair must be mapped into the upper left corner of the image while earrings should be mapped into a tiny spot in the upper right corner. The most significant difference between bringing in a converted accessory vs. a converted shoe is that shoes must work with the CAS slider system in the game. This means that the shoes will need a second UV map (uv_1). The second UV, in conjunction with vertex paint, is what allows the mesh to alter its shape correctly when the player makes the Sim's feet larger or smaller. Because the second UV isn't particularly relevant for most earrings the tutorial I wrote does not go over how to make one. Andrew wrote a tutorial showing how to unwrap the second UV (uv_1) for shoes and it is posted HERE. It also shows how to do vertex paint for shoes as the color they use is different than the color used for accessories. If you get started making your project and run into more questions please feel welcome to post in a tutorial thread or to continue posting in this one.
