Hi! I have a problem with a lot of my objects. Every time I place them and take the mouse away from it, this happens!(picture) Does someone knows what it can be? I have tried to search everything. The Sims 4 settings is on laptop mode, and all of the scripts is allowed, and I have also the game graphic on the highest... ^ Many many items looks like this when I place them.. This is what it should look like...

This is very weird. Did you made this objects? Do you mind sharing the package of some of the problematic ones?

That issue is because of laptop mode and the size of the texture in the package. Without laptop mode, and being the size wrong, this does not happen for some reason. You should open the package of that blanket, go to the warehouse and see which resolution do the textures of the blanket have. The resolution must be multiple of 4, like 512x512...1024x1024 or 512x1024. If you were to fix it yourself, you'd have to export the texture, cut it to the right resolution and the import all the textures back.

hi! You need to open the package with sims 4 studio and you'll see the text "warehouse" on the second tab and the top-left corner of the program. From there you just look for the texture, click on it so you can see the preview and the resolution will be displayed on the top-left corner of the texture preview.
If you can tell me exactly the name of the package, the set and link the download i can take a look at it.
You need to restart your game after unticking the laptop mode to set the changes. Did you do that?

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say thank you so much, inabadromance ! I've never had this problem with CC I've made, but I've run into a few pieces (usually conversions from TS3) by other creators with the changing textures, and could never figure out how to fix it! Now I can go and fix these awesome conversions so they show up right in my game, haha.

no problem I used to play in laptop mode so I had to figure out the issue myself since creators (at that time) that came from ts3 didn't think it would be different.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've noticed this issue again, except sometimes it still happens with objects that have the right resolution (256x256, for example). Is there any other reason it could be happening or any other way to fix it?

Hijacking the thread... I'm curious as well. I've had this happen all too many times. The textures have always had the correct size and no original textures left in the package (sometimes the objects actually grabbed a texture from a nearby object) and only in laptop mode. It's odd.

I've always seen this when the texture have a wrong size. If you have any particular cc you're having troubles with, please link it and i'll take a look at it

Here's the .package file I'm working on now that I'm having the issue with: simfileshare.net/download/208531/I only have issues with it in laptop mode, and when I place it inside a room...then the texture goes dark. It's odd. But not the first time I've seen it happen on an object with the correct image sizes.

mmm i'm not sure brittpinkiesims. Is this a clone of the new items? have you edited something? I know some plants become dark when placed inside... and that's on EA's part.. something changed in one of the patches causing that. Not sure if that was fixed.

Nope, and nope, haha. It happens on both the item I sent you and a regular base game sculpture clone. It's not a plant and I didn't edit anything other than bump/spec maps. But this happens with several items, usually conversions, and only in laptop mode. It's odd :(

So... to pin point the problem.. if you only clone a base game statue and don't do anything to it, does it happen too?

The only thing weird about this mesh is the uv map. They placed most of it outside the range. Althought this is pretty common because the texture repeats. I've only seen it a lot in Sims 2 objects, but not really in Sims 4 objects. I would try to move the UV into the "square" range. It shouldn't interfere with the textures... With the outside of range uv selected. Press G and then Y. Then type 256. it should now be perfectly in place.
