uv_1 is not supposed to line up with the map. It is used to make the mesh move with the sliders. Look at the tutorial I linked for the uv_1 in my first response which inabadromance also linked in her last response.

circav3, if you are a beginner you should be using the current Community tested version of Studio (Jackpot). A lot of people went to a lot of trouble to bring you a version that doesn't have bugs to work around while you're learning.

Depends how you define a beginner. I'm not a beginner to s4s, or to modifying existing sims4 assets. I am new to creating new meshes or appending meshes from outside of TS4.
Jackpot requires Blender 2.70, right? 2.70 does not have the data transfer feature, which I need apparently.

You can (and should) have both versions. Have installed the 2.70, and download the .zip version of the latest blender build to be opened through .exe directly.

Okay. I now have both 2.70 installed, and have rolled back to jackpot. Jackpot is pointing to the 2.70 version of blender./ Exporting is still broken. Opening with either 2.70 or 2.78 versions of blender both have an empty file with just the rig.

i'm not understanding the "both 2.70 installed". it's only the 2.70 you should have installed, just one.

I don't think that you can have both versions installed at once. The newer overrides the older version... unless you manually configured and installed them in different locations. I have only 2.70 installed, and 2.77 through zip version and that's what works for me.

If you just have 2.70 installed, how do you utilize features only available in 2.75 or later, like the 'data transfer' option specified in the UV_1 tutorial?

Hi! if you have both installed, like you mentioned earlier.. then just open the 2.78 version and open the blend from there.

I don't get what the current issue is. The thread started out with the butt slider not working. From there it went to an issue with not being able to import/export. These major issues have been interspersed with other questions about how vertex paint and weight transfer works, etc. On top of that, there has been no .package posted so we can look at what's going on.
If you have a .package that is causing confusion, state the question and post the .package. If Studio isn't working for you, create a clone of an EA item, attempt whatever it is that isn't working for you, and if that still isn't working using an EA item, post about it in the bug thread. All this vague back and forth isn't getting anywhere. If Studio manages the task that won't work with your item, then you need to troubleshoot your item. If you aren't sure how to do that then post the .package.
Also, if you need features from 2.75 or above and you cannot use 2.78 in conjunction with Harmony (or you're using Jackpot), then install 2.70 and use that as a bridge to your preferred Blender version as inabadromance stated above.

I can't seem to isolate the export/import problem. I've managed to get a .package with a mesh that has uv_1 mappings, but it is still not moving with the butt slider. Here is the .packageThe sims4studio mes 2 is the one that actually displays. There's a uv_1 mapping on it. It's super ugly and not at all what it would actually need to be, but I'm just trying to get *any* movement at this point. But when you move any of the sliders that correspond to the location on the uv_1 map, the mesh doesn't move at all. When I started with the mesh it did not have a uv_1 map at all. I created a new uv map and then renamed it 'uv_1.' Is there something else I am supposed to do?

Couple of reasons this can happen... - Did you paint the model's vertexes? Tutorial
- Did you create/fix the uv_1? Tutorial
Your item does not have any vertex paint, and it's completely black. Meaning that it won't read sliders or uv_1. Please follow the tutorial Brujah linked on the firsts posts of this thread.

Ohhhhh okay. I'd done that once but had started over with everything when I ran into the problems with blender, and forgot to do that part again. Thank you!
