I am just really at my wits end I don't know what to do. I have removed file after suspisious file causing it and right when I think it's fixed it starts up again. It is so random that I can't pin point a specific object anymore and the fifty method seems to be getting me no where because of it. I put half in and it SEEMS to pass the test through EVERY FOLDER then I put it all back in and try it up and sure enough it eventually does it . I have merged files but they were merged like a week or more ago. I have never had an update cause this much of a headache I feel like I am losing willpower. I have been trying to fix this for 14 hours. I haven't even gotten to play with the little bastards yet. I have the updated version of sims studio. I feel like if it's more than a handful of bad files I am going to have remove all of my custom content and that is 14 gigs of "I can't deal with that"

That sounds like a LOT of CC but when I have an issues with my CC not loading/giving me issues, I'll take a few days(usually due to work and stuff it spans over a few days) and sort through it. Basically, I take all of my CC out of my Mods folder, make a new Folder in my Downloads, and put things one at a time into the game again, to pin point exactly which item is giving me issue. It takes a long time to put an item in, and take it out, to put the next single item in and so on and so on. But hopefully then you can find the problem item!
And just so this makes more sense, I'll provide an example below in steps haha 1. Take ALL CAS items out of the Mods folder, and place into a New Folder in downloads. 2. Take one item(let's say a dress), and bring it back into the Mods folder. 3. Open game, find item. Does it work? Cool. 4. Close game, put the dress(or whatever item) into a different folder than the one above. 5. Repeat until you've gone through every item.
Hopefully you find the file causing the problem!

I have the basics of cc down i know the method ,the problem is this method isn't working right now at all. I can't pinpoint a cause of the loop so when i test a bath of folders it seems to work fine for upwards of 20 minutes so i put it in the "safe" folder, try with the next batch and more of the same, it works fine. i do this for 20 minutes for each folder and everything is FINE then when everything goes back in at once , I without fail get this damn infinite loop. I found 4 broken files with the 50/50 method just fine, they were easily noticeable, the glitch was repeatable so I had no issue in locating it but whatever is causing this particular loop is doing it in such a random way I can't find it , it's very frustrating. I am attempting to take out all merged files and try everything unmerged, it's literally my last hope. I do use a lot of cc but before this update I had a flawlessly running game with the amount I use.

Sometimes my CC lags my game right after an update, maybe there's a repair option on your Origin homescreen(if you use Origin, I'm not sure). Sometimes running that may help? Other than that, I'm not sure and I'm sad for you if you have to lose a bunch of CC :(

i unmerged everything and it stopped ( from what I can tell) the loop but later I then crashed during buildmode which NEVER happens with my game so I ended up caving and shifted single handed through each file and purged old, broken, unused poo. I am on not even half way done lol but it will be better off for it when it's all finished.

The loop returns and ive removed upwards of five gigs and completely remerged fresh files so im so confused as to what is causing it and the hunt continues. Is anyone at all had a similar error in cas with this infinite ui thumbnail load loop?

I am having similar problems! Either CAS will not load or it will load, I will make or edit a sim and then I can not save that sim! Very frustrating! Plus, I ended up with that cas bug in S4S v3.0.0.6(?) which broke a bunch of my CC and recolors. I had to go back and redownload files and recreate packages (which I am still working on!)! Unfortunately my backup wasn't worth a poo for helping me avoid this problem! I have tried the repair option in Origin twice, but I am still having problems too. I know it is something in my clothing CC but I still cannot pinpoint which item(s) are causing the infinite loop. And now I can not get the game to regenerate thumbnails for my CC after I ran the delete custom thumbnails in S4S! UGH! <tearing out hair>
Any ideas out there? Puzicat

you can retrieve your cas items from before you ran the delete custom thumbs in the sims studio back up folder for starters. I made the mistake of deleting thumbs once, i can't imagine why its needed unless someone wanted to customize all thumbs but i cant do that for 6 gigs of poo lol. I had to toil away for literal hours to find my problem. It ended up being two things a shirt whose mesh had to have been borked, i forget the maker but it was a female shirt. The second thing was something I had frick frack made which is why my arrogant ass didnt check it because ive never had a cc i made not work before lmao it was a damn skin for a toddler but it was before the sims studio was totally working so I am guessing that was why. I also had an issue with a merged file of hairs after the patch. I would suggest always making a back of your cc folder when it is in working order at least once a week . Updates will always be a headache though every time , it's just part of the "joy" of cc. I now i have merged and unmerged copies of all my cc and do this once a week and organize everything but creator, theme, and time downloaded and i STILL can spend hours finding a finger nail that the game just can't comprehend. It amazes me is capable of breaking it lol. the only method capable of finding it without fail is the fifty/fifty method but with a lot of content its still very time consuming process. when doing the fifty try to arrange the folders by recently updated so you can check the folders you put downloads into recently first. Always batch fix stuff in studio so they work properly in game like counters, beds, mirrors and lights and if at all possible try to avoid having cas cc for random townies. Sometimes that causes problems when trying to pin point an issue. Also pay attention to the last thing you click before a crash or a lag .For example that is how i found the shirt was broken, whever i clicked it the load loop would start but i had to do that FOUR loads before I finally caught it cause im slow as poo. Anyway I hope you find the problem I know it's a headache . I know there is never much people can do for me when I post these I usually just need to vent and plead for help to make myself feel better lmao.

Read more: sims4studio.com/thread/7290/infiniate-icon-loading-loop-desperate#ixzz4WvWghQPUYeah, because of the bug, the backup isn't worth anything to me. >:( I have been working thru things for a week now...sigh... I do arrange by creator and I have a "new" folder I put things in when they are newly put into my game but I ran the disallow for aliens with the old version of S4S and ended up borking things up. (Because I had gone thru a bunch of my cc making changes and saves it also borked things - so the backup was worthless to me.) I was stupid <and a little lazy> and didn't make a backup of my Sims 4 folder recently. The backups my computer does automatically writes over the last one - so - no joy there either!!! Anyway! I am glad you figured out your problem! I am off to try to figure out mine! Puzicat

i'm not sure if it's exactly the same issue....i was able to load my game from the main screen but if i clicked on a house to play (I suspect if i tried anything else would have done the same) I'd get an infinite loading screen, plumbob kept spinning, tips kept scrolling, music kept playing....on and on and on B-| after playing add/remove which mod is it through over 3,000 mods....it was the sims 2 Radio for sims 4 that caused it.... if you have TheSims2RadioStations.package remove it and try again
