Hi. I am busy with the toddler tunic with leggings. I removed that star necklace thingy and closed the holes in the mesh. It went OK but now when I import my texture into S4S the patterns are all distorted in the area where I closed the spaces on the mesh. I deleted the 2nd UV and it looks better but still distorts the pattern. Am learning a lot as I go along but really would just once like to do something without having problems. Also since the new update Blender keeps crashing. What version of Blender am I supposed to use. Thanks in advance.

Hi kymscreations, if you altered the position of mapped vertices without also changing the mapping to match, this can definitely cause distortion of the image. The distortion in your image appears to be where the vertices were moved to join them after removing the necklace. This is not a problem caused by Studio but by a now-incorrectly mapped mesh. You'll need to update the mapping to match the mesh edits you made.
Do you have a specific example of a situation where the new update is causing Blender to crash and, by new update, do you mean a new update to Studio or to Blender? Studio Harmony can work with Blender 2.70 for everyone. It is enabled to work with Blender 2.78 also, but some people have reported empty .blends when exporting meshes using 2.78. We're still trying to figure out the reason for that.

Hi Orangemittens. Yes, I know it's not Studios fault, it is me being a noob again.
What I meant from doing something without problems is that I wish I wasn't so stupid and could do a project just once without having to research or find out what I am doing wrong.
It's the first time I've deleted vertex and then closed a hole in a mesh (just leanred how to do that) so I don't know how to fix the mapping lol.
When I import a mesh into Blender everything is fine but as I start working on it Blender will freeze then just shut down my whole laptop giving me a message on a huge blue screen. The screen doesn't give me much chance to read it but I did catch the word drivers so not sure if it's my laptop but it only started doing that after I installed the new harmony version. I'm using Blender v 2.70a.

I downloaded Blender v 2.70 and will install later. Wow, I've searched all over for tuts to do mapping and now I am more confused then when I started lol not to mention I have "square" eyes haha. To think a simple texture issue can be so difficult to fix

After removal of the necklaces have remained unchanged uv map. You must select all the vertices and fix the. For convenience and clarity, export dress with your texture.

So I must edit the "holes" on the UV side then? I tried that but it edits the mesh on the right hand side aswell when I select them in the UV map.
I selected the edge of the vertexs and then used alt M to merge them in the middle but my texture is all muddled up when I apply a pattern to it.
May I ask what UV image you used in your pic. Is it the toddler body template. I opened the UV of the dress itself.
I will try do it again later on tonight. Than u for your help.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a tutorial that shows how to fix my problem in detail. I'm sorry but when a person has not done it before its difficult to understand what you have to do. I have no problem following a tutorial. Many many thanks.

Wow, the problems go on. I mentioned that blender 2.70a crashes then I was told to use Blender 2.70 or 2.78a. I downloaded and installed v2.70 and S4S does not recognize that so I downloaded and installed v2.78a which S4S linked me too, NOW it does not export the mesh. What next. Really feeling frustrated here.

Kym, you are far from stupid. Anyone who even attempts at having a go at meshing and modding has no relation with the word. And despite what people may think, it is HARD to learn it ... but (and I'm not just saying this) the best thing you can do sometimes is make mistakes, because that teaches you what not to do, and sometimes even shows you a new way to do something else. Once corrected, each little thing that didn't go right is moved to the WIN column. I know it doesn't feel like that right now as I am right with you in that I know that frustrated and ready to give up feeling well, but keep with it - you are already farther along with what you did with the project than many could have gotten to. In any case, sorry I don't have a solution to your problem as I am a noob and have not yet tried my hand at clothing or hair, but just wanted to chime in with a chin up!

THANK YOU so much for your words of encouragement! It really means a lot to me.
I was just about ready to give up. When you open a project and then find you've wasted the whole morning and still haven't achieved anything it can be very disheartening indeed! I would love to attempt it again if studio would just export the mesh lol

Hi, I unfortunately do not know where to find a detailed lesson. And my language capabilities will not be allowed to explain clearly enough. You have chosen a rather difficult task for a beginner.
