I looked through the forum and really couldn't find anything that could help with my situation so im just gonna start a thread if this isnt where it goes or if there is some info on this please point me in the right direction. :D So, im still fairly new to S4S however i am pretty familiar with blender. Anywho, im trying to import or bring in a file from one of the games expansion packs: get to work. more so a certain animation from the law enforcement career i want to make this just into a plain animation (not the whole thing just a certain part of it) that you just pull up instead of having to go through the whole shabang of going through the LE career. So far ive tried linking and appending, dragging and dropping the file on top of the model and even changing the files to the formats that blender will take to import files. because i've noticed that S4S doesn't have that little tab where you can import the file into blender like sims 3 editor program. like this
does it just not have that part in it or did i not download S4S right lol (it wouldn't be the first time ive screwed something simple like that up)so is there a way to kinda do that? Cause im kinda at a lost and id love to get this done so i can finish my project for the film fest
Thank you for taking the time to read this and comment. im looking forward to your answers

hi! Welcome to the forums . You don't need to append anything. Just export the animation you want using the pose pack option on the main screen. Open the blend and edit it as your heart desires. You can read this guide for poses. You can also use the Pose player to pose by name, instead of pose pack. You can download the pose name txt list on Andrew's page.

thank you for your response inabadromance but ive already read through most of those tutorials and none seem to dive into what im trying to do. Im sorry if my post was unclear (i was writing that at like 1 am :P) what im trying to do exactly is basically bring in the EA animation and just cut out a few frames from that animation into either a pose or just a shorter clip. But when i try i just get a blank canvas of a model and that's not what im looking for haha
Here is an example that someone did for the sims 3.
i hope im saying this right. is there anyway that i can do something like that S4s?

I thought you wanted one still pose, instead of a chunk of animation. STILL, what i said is what you should do. You edit the blend you export, you don't have to append it to anything else. You delete the parts you don't want, then select all that is left and move it towards 0.

So i finally figured it out what i wanted to do. Yes what you said to do was right but you where pretty vague about what i should have been doing lol (considering im still pretty noobish at s4s). turns out i should have been selecting EA clip instead of Blank Clip i dont know why that didnt register with me until now. But thanks again for you help

Ahh! that's why i didn't understand what you were saying either. I assumed you were exporting both and trying to somehow mix them together. I'm glad you figured it out
