Hello there. I want to make a toilet into a planter box. I followed bakkie tutorial and everything works perfect (thank you for the tutorial) btw. However, I can purchase seeds from it but when I tell my sim to plant a seed the seed is red and it won't go into the toilet. Not a problem. I planted it on the ground then used the moo cheat to place it in the toilet and used 9 to raise it up BUT when I tell the sim to water the seed etc she moans and can't. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe if I cloned the toilet from a planter box then edit the toilets tuning it would work. Maybe I didn't use the right tuning code as i saw there was more than one.

Hi kymscreations First of all, I really like the idea! Could be something I came up with too :P About your problem, think it has something to do with the different heights of the planter versus the toilet. What did you do with the slots of the planter? (You only see the Rig/Slots tab if you use the Create 3D mesh option in the main menu)  I think that these are the slots that go over the seeds, but I don't know for sure as I never used planters in game before. But maybe just moving one of them to the center of your toilet could already make planting the seed to work better. It could be that one of those other lines also go's about giving them water. You will have to try that. Or maybe someone DOES know if what I'm saying right here is the way it works or that I'm sending you in the wrong direction. Before changing anything on your package file, make a copy of it, so you can always go back to how it is now. |

Thank you Bakie. I am playing a post apocalyptic challenge so wanted to make some authentic planters lol. I still have to edit the mesh in blender to give the toilet a really old worn broken look.
I had an idea its to do with the slots but wasn't sure.
I will try play around with it some more and see what I can come up with.
I tried lowering the plant almost to floor level inside the toilet but that doesn't help any.
Maybe if I tried raising the rig up a bit in blender?

 I've noticed something on the toilet that I edited to have the planter box tuning is that it doesn't have a rig slot. That's probably why my sim can't do anything with it but only purchase seeds. What I did was first edit the tuning and then clone the planter box with the toilet. Maybe I should start again and see if it has a rig slot this time, but when I try clone the planter box I get an error from studio. |

  Fixed!!! I figured it out after you turned me in the direction of the rigs. Why I always do things the hard way I'll never know lol. I only needed 1 rig as the toilet can only take 1 plant and here I was working with the planter that allows you to plant 4 plants. I started over with the single planter and it worked. Now just to edit the mesh in blender and make it old and broken then do my textures and I am done! Thank you for your help Bakie. I love your tutorials and have seen all of them. They are a great help! Will post a pic of my finished "toilet planter" when I'm done. :D |

Glad I could help you kymscreations! I would love to see some pics of the finished item  You were talking about "Maybe if I tried raising the rig up a bit in blender?" But you can raise those rigs and slots in Studio too by changing the numbers on the axis in the rig/slots tab. |

That is good to know because I went into blender and selected the rig and moved it up but it doesn't change anything.
How would I know how "high" to make them cause when I moved them in blender the figures did not move?
If you look at the last pic at the bottom of the toilet you can see the dirt sticking out, it makes it look authentic, like maybe there's a crack in the toilet bowl lol but I would like to know how to move it up.

Moving the rigs on blender isn't going to update them on s4s. You have to edit the slots manually. |

 FIXED one thing and another problem pops up lol. When I put my texture on the toilet seat this is what it does, only in the one place. This is just a plain recolor so it can't be anything i have changed. I've researched but cant find a fix. It's probably something simple! |

Hi! This is a uv map problem. But it is not something you did wrong. It is how the original EA toilet is mapped. They mapped so it works with plain colors but not with patterns, lines or anything else. You could try re-mapping that part so it works for your texture. Remember that you'd have to do it for all LODS import it and then edit all the textures. Bump, spec, and diffuse to fit the new uv map.  |

Yea I kinda figured that out. Too much work lol I just chose a different toilet and that one is co-operating!
