I am new at this and tried following the tutorials posted here but it isn't coming out right. The mesh I created by linking strings of hexagons into this complex shape. Portions of the mesh appear transparent (white circle) in texture or UV mode but look solid in, well solid mode. I know I am doing something wrong but I can't figure it out. Red line is seam I attempted to put in from tutorial. If anyone would like to investigate package is HERE

I think you just need to recalculate the normals.

As @peterssparker told you this is most likely because the faces are pointing inwards rather than outwards. It should be fixed after you recalculate normals, but make sure to check if all of them are pointing correctly, sometimes that feature doesn't work at all for the whole mesh and you need to flip some normals manually. To do that you select the face in "edit mode" press W and then "Flip normals", this will flip the selected plane only.

This is just so you know These lines point to which way the normal are facing, they all need to be facing outwards Just so you can see easier, Max displays them more clearly, all the green bits mean inside out normals
