Hi all, I've been working on a skirt and I'm coming into some trouble. I have done recolors but this is my first mesh edit so please be kind. Pictures of my problem are uploaded here: imgur.com/a/TuIRlI started with the mesh from a mermaid-shape skirt by melisa-inci. I wanted to do a cut out in the front, but I'm running into troubles. I successfully cut out the part of the front of the skirt, merged skirt to a nude bottom mesh, fixed clipping, and created an inside part to the skirt, export UV map. In blender, the skirt looks great (pic 1). When I import the mesh and texture, however, I get these weird black lines (pic 2). These are the lines where the 3 different parts of the skirt mesh come together, but they don't go away if I merge all 3 parts into one single mesh. Then, I decided to load this in The Sims 4 to see if the problem persisted and I got weird shiny lines (pic 3). I thought this meant it was a specular map that came with the original mesh, so I went to S4Studio and under "Textures," selected "Specular" and clicked "Make blank." The black lines didn't go away. I clicked "Make blank" for all other textures except Diffuse (Shadow, Normal, Emission) and it still has the black lines from pic 2. What can I do to fix this so I can start texturing the mesh? If there is any other info I can provide to help you, let me know where to find it.

Please share the .blend and .package. so someone can take a look. May be it's a shadow texture, may be somethings else, but can't tell without seeing the file.

The original package I edited is here. The .blend file I created is here and the .package I created is here.I didn't know if there was a better way to share the blend and package files without linking from outside, sorry if this is roundabout. Edit: I've also just noticed that there is some sort of shadow on the top of the left buttcheek area. I don't know if this is related but while you look at the files if you know how to fix that I am all ears. Thanks for your help. Edit again: I've fixed them now, sorry, it didn't copy the second link.

hi! I don't really see anything "wrong" with the mesh.. you might want to reduce the space you're using on the uvmap since it's overlapping the shoes.
Have you tried re-doing (re cloning) the package again?) Be sure to choose the "3d mesh" option and never delete anything from the package.. since i'm seeing you're missing the bump and specular textures.

Yeah, I moved it a bit so it wasn't overlapping shoes. I guess I can try doing it again. It was a really long process though, especially fixing the UV mapping, because it had some faces upside-down so the texture was bad, and I spent hours and hours fixing that... I did delete the spec map from the package just to see if it would help and it didn't, I still have it in my current file, just not that one I uploaded.
I'm open to any other advice because I'm quite certain if I do it again, I will get the same result.

Stupid question, but is the mesh supposed to be in 4 parts?

hi! I'm not talking about re doing the whole project, just re cloning the package and re importing the mesh again. Never, never delete anything from the warehouse. You can "blank" them if the option is available, if not, export the texture and edit it.

looneybin17, the mesh was in four parts when I got it. I had to add in the legs mesh so you could see them under the skirt, so I merged two pieces of the skirt mesh so that I still had four parts to the mesh. I was following this tutorial and that's what they did. I assume you could probably merge the pieces to the mesh, though it might cause clipping without a cut number for each piece, maybe not though, I'm new to this as well. inabadromance, I did just blank them, I didn't know there was another way to delete those maps. What do you mean by re-cloning the package? Just starting from a fresh slate on S4Studio, and importing the same mesh and textures I already made? I will give that a try in the morning and let you know how it goes, I was quite busy today!

inabadromance, I tried re-cloning the mesh and re-importing it like you said and I am getting the same black lines on the skirt part.

Can you share this new clone's package? Are you using ticking the 3d mesh option?

Here is the new .package file. Yes, I was sure to click the New 3D Mesh option under CAS. Edit: was checking I used the right link. lol.

I'm sorry, but i can't seem to help you with this project. I downloaded your latest .package and it's acting wonky. I don't see any of the diffuse textures, or the rest of the textures. And it's giving me error trying to export the mesh.

I have the same problem as Inabadromance on this one. Did you deleted something in the Warehouse? What version of Studio are you using? You should have the latest one.
